The relations between Georgia and China have a long history. Two countries have been connected since the ancient "Silk Road". In 1991 Georgia and China established official relations; since then, bilateral relations between two countries have been developing very smoothly. China and Georgia have never had any conflict, they respect each other’s territorial integrity, both fight against terrorism and both are willing to establish democratic and friendly relations, based on the principles of the International law. Despite the distance between China and Georgia, both countries are trying to strengthen their friendship. At present, China is Georgia’s third largest trading partner and largest investor with bilateral trade of 823$ million last year. In the first half of this year, during the overall trade decline, China-Georgia bilateral trade was still increasing.In recent years, Georgia-China relations became closer than ever. When General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Xi Jinping in 2013 proposed the idea of the "Silk Road economic belt", two countries interest in each other became even bigger and China-Georgia relations achieved unprecedented rapid development in history and moved to a new era. Bilateral high-level exchanges, as well as cultural exchanges became more active, especially in terms of the building "Silk Road economic belt". "Silk Road economic belt" has the concept of connecting Europe and Asia. Connecting the entire Eurasian continent needs a connecting and logistic hub. Georgia, on the other hand is located in Eurasian "Crossroad." Because of its unique geopolitical position, Georgia has a huge potential to become an effective corridor between Europe and Asia.2015 year was the most important year in two countries’ relationship. Part of the "Silk road economic belt" from China to Turkey international freight railway was launched successfully. Cargo line is following:China-Kazakhstan-Caspian sea-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey. Georgia becoming a participant intermediary country of the economic belt has a significant importance for the development of China-Georgia bilateral relations. With the launching of the "Silk Road economic belt", the future of bilateral relations will be deepened further.The following thesis aims to research the current political, economical and cultural relations between China and Georgia; analyze the relevance of the "Silk Road Economic Belt" with Georgia; analyze the role of Georgia in the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and consider the prospects of bilateral relations. So far, there isn’t any research done about the current situation and prospects of Sino-Georgian relations. This paper hopes to fully observe and fully explain the current situation of bilateral relations and provide a reference about current relations and future prospects of two countries.The following thesis consists of 6 parts (including the introduction); the content as follows:The first part is introduction. Introduction is the major part of this thesis; in the introduction it is described China-Georgia relations since 2013 year; research method and theory of the thesis.The second part is about current political relations between China and Georgia. It analyses political relations between China and Georgia; China’s foreign policy for Georgia and official visits of two countries’ leaders.The third part of the thesis is about current economic relations between China and Georgia. It analyses Georgian investment environment; economic trade relations between China and Georgia; Hualing Group as the largest investor in Georgia and export of Georgian wine in China.The fourth part is about current cultural relations between China and Georgia. It analyses the promotion and development of Chinese language in Georgia; Tourism relations between China and Georgia and cultural relations between China and Georgia.The fifth part includes short historical review of ancient Silk Road and its correlation with Georgia. It also includes the "Silk road economic belt" challenge to Georgia.The sixth part is about future prospects of China Georgia relations. It analyses future prospects of two countries’ political, economic and cultural relation.The last part is the conclusion of the thesis.
