The research about teaching based on experience and insight is a preliminary exploration for building a theory of teaching and learning with Chinese features. Teaching based on experience and insight is combined with the characteristics of times development and is originated from the local teaching practice, which inherits the spirit of traditional teaching ideas and actively absorbs the teaching ideas in the West. Teaching problems are considered in a way of dialectical thinking in the teaching based on experience and insight. The human freedom and consciousness is emphasized in the teaching process, which is regarded as a process of life experience. Meanwhile, the meaning generative nature of life experience is emphasized in the teaching based on experience and insight, which considers the teaching process as two aspects, one is the exploration into the living world to seek and enrich their life experiences in dialogues and activities, the other is the exploration into the heart to have a better understanding and learn more in constant thinking, reflection and criticism. They are two aspects in one process and should be equally stressed. Both of them are in the pursuit of the unification of harmony between physical and mental development. Specifically speaking, there are four characteristics, the unification of knowledge introversion and extraversion, the unification of understanding adaptability and transcendence, the unification of process presupposition and generation, and the unification of activity recessive and dominant. All of them have an important moral value on training human life autonomy transcendence and morality.In the view of its historical development, teaching based on experience and insight mainly has four stages, growth, development, reclusiveness and renewing. Each one corresponds to a certain historical period. They contain the pedagogues’ teaching wisdom, teaching ideas and teaching experience and have close relationship with the politics, economic development, cultural characteristics, etc at that time. Seeking the development of teaching based on experience and insight could help us understand its development and evolution from the historical development view by contrast, summary and analysis, so that we could be more rational and objective both in inheriting the traditional ideas of teaching based on experience and insight and teaching practices experience, and in using foreign teaching ideas and experience as reference. We can learn from its ups and downs of the history for improving current understanding of teaching based on experience and insight, and contribute to its access to new development.On the base of the comprehensive and historical understanding about the teaching based on experience and insight, we still need to consider the urgent problems under the historical background and the current teaching practice sticking to the principles including criticism inheritance and drawing lessons, creative reform, transform and integration based on the existing theoretical research results of curriculum and teaching, building a theory system of teaching based on experience and insight that has significance of theory construction and practical guidance, which mainly include the "us" subjectivity view of teacher and student conception that the growth community was formed by teachers and students in teaching activities, the purpose view that considers the subject development of students as the core and the socialization of students, the content view that sticks to the understanding the content structurally, the method view that includes the unification of teaching methods and learning methods, the unification of science and humanity, the unification of pursuit teaching efficiency and emphasizes the teaching art, the evaluation view of the openness, pluralism and directivity.Now, some teachers have selected the guiding ideology that stimulated the students’ comprehension, inner understanding, and guided them to self realizing and self satisfaction in life experience, in order to change the teaching focus from the form to the essence, from "teaching" to "learning", from "substance" to "human". They promote the inherent development of human life as main connotation, field explorations with different forms in different subjects, and those explorations will exert certain influence on our current teaching. Those explorations contained intrinsic ideas of insight and provided the valuable exploratory experience for the teaching based on experience and insight. In order to impel this practice, we should explore more about the teaching based on experience and insight, and need reflect on teachers, subject knowledge and classroom teaching space, to gradually increase the teacher’s sense of identity, continue to attach importance to the research of subject knowledge, expand the classroom teaching space, and promote the practice exploration of teaching based on experience and insight from the unconscious state to the self-conscious state. In short, the pursuit of teaching based on experience and insight is making the generation of teachers and students life wisdom and its self-consciousness as the basic motive force. We should grasp the opportunity to promote the classroom teaching reform by the development of information technology, combine traditional teaching ideas with foreign teaching ideas based on the local teaching practices, which not only play important role in improving the knowledge structure, mastery of learning methods, the innovative capacity, and implement life-long learning and all-round development, but also play an active role in promoting our new basic education curriculum reform.
