An new and innovative project named "Wide-Angle Insight of Mathematics" in the new curriculum standard of PEP edition textbook of elementary school mathematics provides greater thinking and intention space to pupils.As its fresh content and an up-to-date design can not only helpful to raise student’s mathematics knowledge and application ability,but also stimulate the student to study mathematics and enhance the ability of logical thinking,the block is a nice section in the coursebook.On the basis of the writer’s own investigation using the questionnaire form, attending a lecture and interview that we have had a solid sense of the teaching methods used by the teachers to handle the section and the attitude keeped by the students.Some teacher believe that the mathematical way of thinking embedded in this part goes beyond the capacity for understanding to most of the students, and others consider that the content of this section will be not covered on the Final Exam as the intentions of this part concerning the mathematical way of thinking is not achieved by very low requirement in class teaching.And the Main problems worth studying both theoretically and in practice are suggested as follows:firstly,how to lectures on the section in the mathematics lesson For a student,what shold learn from the section? Next,whether the students have any real understanding of "Wide-Angle Insight of Mathematics"Finally, whether the significance of the project is correctly reflected?Random sample questionnaires aim at 17 elementary teachers and 100 sixth-grade primary students are used in this thesis to evaluate and analysis on how the teachers effective use of this part to correctly reflecte the mathematical way of thinking embodied in the section, and how the teachers design the teaching processes to stimulate the interestingness of students to learn this section. And to the further aim for expand the ability of mathematical way of thinking which can be promote the students’practical skills to slove mathmatics problem and let them kown there is mathmatics everywhere in ourlife.In this way,the value of the section can work.This paper is divided into five parts and structured as follows:Purposes and significance of the study, research design and research Methods are first reviewed in section 1.Next,the distribution of the "Wide-Angle Insight of Mathematics" in textbook and its high position and role are covered in section 2 for the typical character of mathematical thinking presented by the project Then,the results of the random sample questionnaires is counted and analyzed,and the results is stated concerning how to play the project faction to the great limit.Additionally,the teaching method and case for how to instruct the project is addressed in section 4.Finally,the conclusion is presented in section 5.
