Career guidance has a far-reaching significance to improve the character of students’lives, the quality of moral education in colleges and the development of social human resources. In the new era, the type of individual career shifts from traditional to variable and subjective consciousness of individuals has been enhanced, which requires vocational colleges to develop career guidance curriculum consciously to strengthen career education, improve students’career management and enhance the sense of achievement, dignity, and freedom about their career life.To ensure vocational colleges develop career guidance curriculum rationally and effectively, this thesis is in accordance with such approach as concepts’design—modes’ construction—targets’orientation—contents’preparation—selection of implementing and evaluating strategy. Meanwhile, it adopts many methods such as comparative approach, questionnaire survey, work analysis, expert consultation and seminar. This thesis summarizes the basic concepts and measures of related curriculum development in and out of our country, and does a deep and systematical study on orientation of curriculum function, defini of curriculum property, characteristics of curriculum study, main participators and selected modes of curriculum development, and some problems on curriculum developing practice.From philosophy of education point of view, this thesis reviews the concepts of curriculum function and reveals "what could curriculum do". For the above and the analysis of real factors that impact curriculum function, this thesis proposes to orientate career guidance curriculum function as guiding the students to "enjoy career life". Based on the viewpoint of knowledge, the transformation of curriculum outlook and the analysis of basic orientation of vocational education curriculum, it defines the property of career guidance curriculum in vocational colleges as "targets" preset, contents’ comprehensiveness, and implementation’s experience". In accordance with learners’ age, requirements of learning theories and students’ learning state, the thesis points out that it should pay attention to students’learning characteristics, such as "lackage of basic learning preparation, intensity of learning demands, and more practical ways of learning", when we carry out curriculum development.Multi-participation is the "legitimacy" guarantee to career guidance curriculum in vocational colleges. Curriculum development needs to stress curriculum policy flexibility, set curriculum development organizations reasonably, coordinate each value orientation and strengthen teachers and students’skills of course expression. This thesis claims the role-analysis-based curriculum development is a suitable mode, describes the basic principle of this mode, and designs its operational processes.Finally, this thesis discusses the target orientation, content arrangement, implementation strategy and effect evaluation about career guidance curriculum in vocational colleges. It stresses the importance of the real needs of career life to reflect integration of multidimensional target. It also indicates that curriculum texts should be prepared according to the principles of psychology, daily life and problem, curriculum should be implemented with an orientation of mutual adaptation, and curriculum evaluation should absorb representatives from employers (enterprises).
