| Since the release of Education Promotion Plan of Action for the21st Century in1998, education authorities at all levels push forward web course construction program. Web course construction becomes a state education movement in this new century. More than ten years passed, does the course still available online? Does each page in the web course site have a sound access? Do the students and teachers actively change their ideas willingly? In all, it’s time to evaluate how these web courses already online meet the basic distance education goal, all the learners can share the excellent teacher’s mind and guide online, can access the web resources anywhere at any time. Due to these primal thinks, the author begins the study of web course performance automatic evaluation. There four steps in this paper to carry out the research.First, at the beginning of the research, the paper reviews the undergoing web course construction projects and authority policies. Then from the requirement of web course management, this paper bring forward the concept of Web Course Performance Evaluation in order to encourage more actual use of web course in course teaching, to share web course resources, to dig out the potential knowledge in each web course learners.Second, the paper holds the view that data collection and processing is a very time and labor consuming job during the whole process web course evaluation. Web crawler is a rule guided intelligent program. Considering the technology of web crawler and the requirement of web course evaluation, the paper hammers out the web course performance evaluation indexes. It includes,(1) web course site accessibility,(2) web course resources update state,(3) teacher-student interaction.The third problem to be resolved is crawler develop. Last, the paper proposes that:(1) Using web course performance evaluation can stimulate web course application;(2) Automatic evaluation data collection is more efficient and objective;(3) Web course policy should act as the guideline during the whole life time of a web course, from its’ investment to end, including performance evaluation. |
