Network Courses Use Automatic Monitoring System Design

Along with the popularization and application of computer network, Web-based course construction has become one of the development directions of the school's current education reform. It provided the possibility to solve the contradiction between people's growing education demand and the shortages of the supply of teaching resources, especially the high-quality teaching resources.For this reason, the Ministry of Education successively started the New Century Web-based Course construction project and the National Quality Course construction project. At the same time, Colleges and universities developed the Web-based Course teaching and learning platform.Making a general survey of our country's web-based course construction, we have already carried out a considerable degree of exploration in the method construction and some achievements were achieved. With respect to the development of curriculum, we have obtained great progress in the design of content, structural and interaction. In addition, the improvements of interface interaction and way to present courses were achieved. However, after the successfully construction of the web-based course, the effect was not as good as we thought when went into service. Studies found that it is the imperfect or missing of the monitoring and evaluating mechanism that caused the problem.The development of web-based course and distribution of subject information are the basis for the web-based course teaching, while the core of the web-based course teaching is the monitoring and evaluation of the teaching activities of web-based course. In order to effectively monitor and evaluate web-based course, regulate it's construction, and improve curriculum resource's utilization, domestic and foreign experts have done relative research on the evaluation of web-based course. In view of the difference between the web-based course from the traditional in characteristics, such as more internetized, more digitized, larger amount of information, updated faster, the existing assessment criteria for web-based course are depend too much on experts'knowledge, and the work costs a large amount of manpower and material resources, this brought greater inconvenience to workers of evaluation.The development of data-mining and information extraction technology has made the information extraction in the process of web-based course resources building possible. Based on the comprehensive of the existing evaluation of web-based course, We established the implementation and construction plan of automatic monitoring system of web-based course usage. Hope this plan can provide certain reference to the evaluation system of web-based course research.This paper specifically includes the following aspects of work:(1) Collecting the national quality courses'website URL and their BBS URL from 2003 to 2010.(2) Making one type of the evaluation index system of the use of web-based course.(3) Finishing the Requirement analysis report of Web-based course usage automatic monitoring system.
