Discipline knowledge interaction and integration has becoming development trend with the need to solve some problems and the developemental logic of knowledge. Many universities carried out organization and institution reform, for example building up entity or virtual interdisciplinary organization. But lots of research findings show that, interdisciplinary organization hasn’t form mature and effective operation mechanism.The essence of knowledge intersaction and integration is university teachers academic interaction. My research object is the interaction of university teachers from different disciplines. My research question is what factors hinder on or promote the process of the interaction of university teachers?The academic interaction of univesity teachers from different disciplines relate to university teachers’ private academic life. So my first reseach step is looking for some events from autobiographies, the oral histories, memoirs and so on. I also find some blog articles on science internet written by university teachers about their experience on interdisciplinary interaction. I processed theory analysis to all the events. Then, I constructed the middle-level theory on the interaction of university teachers from different disciplines. According to the theory, I propose some research hypothesis. Then, according the research hypothesis, I make a questionnaire. I verified reseach hypothesis from emperical analysis.My research conclusions are:University teachers academic life and academic interaction are influnced by disciplines which they are working in. The interaction of university teachers from different disciplines palys an important role in the process of bring forth of new ideas. But most university teachers only used limit ways to interact with other teachers.University teachers contact with whom is determined by structural factors, for example, the structure of academic community and the academic organization which the unversity teachers are inbeded. The chances to meet with other disciplines teachers are determined by the academic recognition mechanisms of universalism and particularism.The macro environment the university teachers living in, for exemple, disciplines culture, Chinese interpersonal relationship, science and technology management system and so on all influnce the process of university teachers’ interactions. If university teachers have special skill or knowledge in scientific research and abide by academic norms also influnces the process of collaboration between them.But the most important one of the factors is interests. The interests embodies two main aspects. One is disciplinary interests formed in the process of defending acadmic territory. The other aspect is the evaluation of academic achievements.University teachers desire to interact with other teachers from different academic organizations. In order to promote the interaction of university teachers from different disciplines, the university should provide platform for them. In the process of scientific collaboration, the profit distribution must be fair and reasonable.
