Abstract:As the pillar of the whole society, contemporary college students behave as main force of national construction and development. At the critical moment of national rejuvenation and social transformation, college student will shoulder a more important historic task. Student association, a spontaneous organization for their shared ideal, is an important means to develop students’scientific ideology and a key carrier to improve their qualities not only in culture but also in morality. The willingness to participate in students’association makes it urgent for us to work out the relevant problems that block its development. However, the academic study on student association is far from enough:most study deals with its development and its constructions, some just touch upon its definition and roles generally, whereas few elaborates upon the crucial issue-students’resignation and reasons behind it. Based on the analysis of questions college student association face, the article, in the perspective of game theory and psychology contract violation, tries to discover the real reasons for students’ resignation and furthermore puts forward measures to maintain student association and suggestions to adjust the psychological contrast between it and its members. The study on association leave from the angle of psychology contract is academically and practically valuable to further strengthen and improve its construction. The article takes college students as the object of research, addresses turnover problems of student association, applies psychology contract theory and game theory, utilizes literature review, questionnaire, interview, empirical analysis and other methods to explore the following in great detail:the factors which result in association leave, the turnover tendency and construction of students’psychology contract violation.Following the principles of psychology contrast throughout the study, the paper analyzes the factors which result in students’resignation and furthermore constructs theoretical pattern for the turnover tendency of college students. Then based on it, the paper makes an empirical study on the influence of its members. However, there is a limitation for the study. As a result, the author views the members as performers with strings attached and makes a study under the model of game theory. After that, the author investigates student association in University Z, clarifies the relationship between students’resignation and psychology contract violation, and discovers the deeper reason underlying students’ resignation. Finally, the author puts forward the psychology contract model to prevent students’tendency to resign. The research consists of the following parts. Firstly, it makes a comment on literature and theory about student association and psychology contract. The paper, then, elaborates psychology contract about giving and receiving, characterized by subjective implicit traits, two-way interactive and dynamic variability.Secondly, by means of the Price model and Mobley model, the paper makes a brief introduction to college students association, takes the actual situation into consideration and puts forward five major factors influencing association leave:individual, internal environment, external environment, commitment and satisfaction. Their mutual relationship can be explained as follows:individual, internal and external factors act as auto variable; job satisfaction and commitment act as mediator; association leave act as dependent variables.Thirdly, the article puts forward a theoretical pattern for the turnover tendency of college students in all kinds of associations, which includes two parts:one under the condition of symmetrical information and the other not. It turns out the former makes association violation and members violation as auto variable, the turnover tendency and emotional commitment as independent variables, while the latter makes the game theory as the basis.Fourthly, the article systemizes updated questionnaires for psychological contract and turnover tendency, designs a new one combined with actual situation. Nearly200students in student association are taken as subject of investigation. The statistical methods such as the exploratory factor analysis, independent sample test, relevant analysis and so on prove the relationship between students’psychology contract violation and their turnover tendency. The study also reveals the reasons for leave, the state of their psychology contract and their characteristics affect turnover tendency and association as well as individual violation change variables.Fifthly, the paper analyzes the turnover tendency of college students in student association with game theory. When the information from association and its members varies greatly, the author applies game theory to compare their turnover tendency and builds a game model to analyze their condition. It turns out that more often than not, the students who break the rules frequently are more likely to resign than the others.Sixthly, taking the student union of university Z as an object, the article analyzes the relationship between psychology contract violation and the association leave. Descriptive statistic indicates that the number of leave decreases yearly,21.1%in2009down to19.6%in2012, slipping8points. Based on the analysis of its turnover rate on hierarchical linear model, the article finds that the turnover rate swings up gradually with the increase of association size but swings down with the rise of satisfaction. Psychology contract is the leading factor for its members to decide whether to resign or not.Lastly, the article puts forward the following four measures to lower turnover tendency:formation, maintenance, return and adjustment of psychology contract to reconstruct a systematic pattern for college student association. The pattern covers all aspects including recruitment, stimulation, mutual trust, communication and so on. It solves the problem theoretically and contributes to the formation and maturity of psychology contract between the association and its members. The paper aims to lay a theoretical foundation for research on turnover tendency of college student association and provide some references for future research.
