| Lei Peihong is one of the famous educationalists in modern China. Lei’s educational theory and practice and his unique contribution to education have been explored comprehensively and deeply by many scholars for a long time. Under the background of advocating educationalist running education, this paper,basing on the theories of Talents and Modern Educational Governance, tries to study the achievements of Lei’s educational practice, the model characteristics, the reasons to be a model example and the enlightenments of educationalist running education with a case study of Lei Peihong. It has important practical significance on exploring the law of educationalist running education and promoting the education development.An educationalist has its specific standards as a high-quality professional education talent. Educational cognition, educational emotion, educational willingness, educational practice, educational achievement and influence are the basic standards to determine the educationalist. Educationalists and "educationalists running education" are in symbiotic relationship. "Educationalist running education" proposition is request of the times in reality in terms of those people who run education regardless of educational rules and make education distorted and alienated, which is related to "non-educationalist running education" tendency. The inherent logic of the development of education determines the necessity of educationalists to run education. According to the phase characteristics of Lei’s growth as educationalist of the progressive course and education practice, this paper divides the main educational activities and achievement of Lei’s education practice into three stages:1912-1933 is the practical and original stage of Lei Peihong in the field of education whose main contribution is to construct Guangxi local educational administrative organization, to explore the "Popularization" of education policy, and to start the education reform in Guangxi; 1933-1940 is the pioneering stage of Lei’s educational practice, the main contribution is to design and carry out the movement of civil elementary education in Guangxi, to set up the National Popularization Basic Education Institution, to make regulations of national basic education of junior high school, to implement the system of special tribal education, to promote adult education, to found Guangxi Medical College; 1940-1952 is Lei’s jumping practical period of improving education practice system, the main contribution is in charge of national Guangxi University, Nanning Agricultural College, founding the Xijiang College and Guangxi Institute of Educational Research.The education practice of Lei’s contains rich education thoughts and characteristics of educationalists running education, which is a model of modern Chinese educationalists’ guidance. It has the distinctive model feature:Lei Peihong has deep social cognition and the noble ideal of education, scientific education cognition and firm educational beliefs, clear ideas and the distinctive characteristics of practice, a profound education feelings and persistent pursuit of the cause, a noble educational spirit and pathbreaking attainments. Lei Peihong is worthy of the name of the educational practitioner.Becoming a model example of educationalist running education, Lei Peihong’s achievements was root in the time of the special regional situation. The national crisis objectively forced Lei Peihong to go on the path of education development. The political environment of Guangxi contributed to Lei’s dream of education development. The background of Chinese modern education reform creates a "symbiotic environment for educationalists", particularly, in the same age, the educationalist Cai Yuanpei’s School of thought, Tao Xingzhi’s "Life Education Association", Liang Shuming’s theory of rural construction, Yu Qingtang’s carrying out mass education experiments have deep influences on Lei Peihong. From his own personal point of view, Lei Peihong had ideological foundation and personal accomplishment of educationalist’ guidance. His education practice were on the base of Marx philosophy, science of social culture, psychology and pedagogy, theory foundation, and the formed his though of education for the public, education for the people, politics and religion, combination of law, education, and labor academic education servicing administration. Lei’s educational thoughts and educational practice promote the development each other. Lei’s rich life experience and "country", the mission and responsibility of "the people" in the top agenda, scholarly attitude and working style of "knowledge" in line with "action", working attitude and interpersonal of relationship "love" and "righteousness", the fusion of Chinese and Western knowledge structure and management of "learning" and "surgery" account for the internal reason why he can become a paradigm of educationalist running education.From Lei’s growth as an educationalist and model features formed elements in the process of his education practice, educationalist running education needs to be prepared with both inside and outside conditions.
