The Ideological and Political Theory Course is an important part of higher education in our country. It is the essence of universities of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. And the key as well as the bottleneck of the construction of ideological and political theory course are the teachers of this course. Teachers’specialization is paid more and more attention. The growth and development of teachers’ability of the ideological and political theory course not only decide the quality of education but also direct teachers to understand themselves and get out of their dilemmas.Teachers’ability is vitally significant for teachers of the ideological and political theory course, because it directly determines the effect of the organization and implementation of ideological and political education. Generally speaking, teachers’ ability of the ideological and political theory course is a comprehensive and multidimensional system. Humanistic literacy ability, acquiring knowledge ability, information and technology ability, cognitive ability is formed the basis of education scientific research ability and the political identification ability; Education scientific research ability and the political identification ability as the core ability is not only the ideological and political theory course teachers’personality, is also the ideological and political theory course teachers education activities smoothly, to optimize the effect of education teaching must have the basic rely on; Subjectivity development ability is the key to the development of the various abilities; Innovation ability as expanding ability, depends on the ability of the integrated use of, at the same time can in turn contribute to the ability of ascension.The development of the theory of Marxism shows continuity. The ideological and political theory course is developing on a scientific, normalized and modernized track. After the infancy, exploration and instability, the construction of the teaching team of the ideological and political theory course is back on track and developing continuously, which ushers in an innovation period. After several decades of construction, diversified foundation of teachers’ability development of the ideological and political theory course has been settled, and numerous achievements have been made in academic qualifications and degrees, specialized knowledge and related knowledge, teaching and scientific research, etc. However, facing the course variability, teachers’coping capacity lags and the subjectivity of teachers’ability development is not prominent. In the face of all sorts of difficulties encountered in modern context, the new trend of education and teaching development under the background of informationization and a networked world, as well as the increasing prominence of occupational burnout, teachers’ability development is the call of the times.Elaboration of people’s ability in Marxism, theory of social interaction and human development, the famous psychologist Vygotsky’s theory of social culture and history, Bruner’s theory of educational culture, and the contemporary western theory of teachers’ability development provide theoretical support for colleges and universities to improve teachers’ability from different perspectives. On the basis of the scientific theory support, teachers of the ideological and political theory course have to place themselves in the education and teaching, seeking development from internal and external direction, to realize comprehensive, integrated and sustainable development.
