In this paper, we study the issues of core competence of university counselors. Elegant in a large number of relevant literature, this paper on the basis of predecessors’ research achievements for reference, through to the practical research of the counselors and college students, the author combine his counselor working experience in 10 years to sum up and put forward the concept of core competence of university counselors, college counselors core competence refers to the ability of university counselors integration based on superposition of deep dissection, feeds, concise, depth and form a comprehensive ability, which is any other special professional ability, professional ability can not be replaced in all kinds of ability of university counselors and dominant position in nature, value, not imitate and alternative, integrated and long-term characteristic.To strengthen the construction of the core competence of college counselors originated in the demand of the college counselor team construction, thus, improving the counselor core competence should become an important guiding ideology of higher education personnel training, it is not just a theoretical form, its itself is a kind of thought, a kind of new talent cultivation idea, a response to the social requirements. The construction of the core competence of university counselors is not overnight thing, also not be accomplished in one or two classes. It needs long time of accumulation of precipitation, specialized research and development, need combined with actual thoughts, this breeds of college counselor training mode reform and innovation on the basis of existing and make a breakthrough.
