Along with the rapid development of China's higher education career, modern education concept to university instructors of competence level has presented us new standards, while the traditional university instructor selection and evaluation standard has many limits, it has become a dilemma to the university instructor's selection, appointment, training and assessment. The competence model of university instructors has already achieved a preliminary achievement, but we still need to deepen the research of it. The paper is based on the analysis of currency of the university instructors'competence and the comparison of the existing competence model. Started from the practical work of the university instructor, through the method of literature review, interview, questionnaire, on the basis of the existing model, to perfect and to add it, to build the competence model of the university instructor through an empirical research method:and to compare the difference according to the age, gender, different professional background, different colleges category, different years of work-life, and whether he's a full-time or part-time instructor. The construction of the competence of university instructor and the analysis of the difference has certain theoretical value and practical significance to clear the responsibilities of a university instructor, establish instructors training system, explore the salary of a university instructor, the evaluation system and other important questions.
