Research On Development Of Popular Basketball Sports In China

Popular basketball sport refers a practical activity,which is played by the great majority of the social members in their spare time by the means of basketball games,with the purpose of body building,joyful body and mind,and satisfying people’ s increasing needs for basketball culture and promoting people’ s overall development and social harmonious progress.For the over 50 years after the establishment of the People’ s Republic of China,basketball sport,directed by the Party and Government’ s body building policy—developing sports to build up the people’ s health—has been played widely in the national schools, enterprises and institutions,and mass organizations,and become people’ s favorable sports game,thanks to its characteristics of being simple and convenient for body building and entertainment.At present, the positive elements,such as our country’ s political stability,fast development of national economy,body building for the entire people more and more popular,Beijing 2008 Olympic Games,will doubtlessly play a vital role to promote our country’ s popular basketball sport.The dissertation,focusing on our country’ s popular basketball sport,adopting such research methods as documents,questionnaires and expert interviews,based on the theory of scientific development and social harmonious development,the relevant theories of popular sports and other basic theoretic knowledge of other subjects,approaches scientifically the theoretic issues of our country’ s popular basketball sport in the period of social and structural reforms.It proposes development tactics for our country’ s popular basketball sport by analyzing the history,the present situation and the main existing problems of our country’ s popular basketball sport,and drawing on the experience of popular basketball sport development in our country’ s basketball cities.It intends to positively contribute to our country’ s further development of body building for the entire people,training of basketball reserve,coordinated development between popular basketball and athletic basketball,the overall development of our country’ s sports cultural undertakings,and the construction of socialist harmonious society on the basis of regarding people as foundation. The main contents are:1.Defining the concept of popular basketball sport from the theoretic angle,and on the basis of that,classify popular basketball sport in the sense of sociology.It discusses our country’ s popular basketball sport course and analyzes:the politic,economic and cultural environment for popular basketball sport development;the aim and tasks of popular basketball sport development;the characteristics of body building and entertainment of popular basketball sport;the essential function and social function of popular basketball sport;its purpose value for promoting people’ s free overall development,and its tool value of politics,economy and education;the relationship between popular basketball and athletic basketball,and their harmonious development.2.The thesis summarizes its general present situation of participating population,facilities,main basketball activities,and management.3.On the basis of deeply analyzing the present popular basketball sport situation and drawing on the experience of popular basketball sport development in our country’ s basketball cities,and analyzing the main factors which affect our country’ s popular basketball sport development,it puts forward some countermeasures to take for the development of our country’ s popular basketball sport:constantly enacting and perfecting laws and regulations concerning popular basketball sport;increasing the governmental and relevant organizations’ capital invested in popular basketball sport; reinforcing the construction of basketball associations and net of basketball organizations;increasingly organizing mass basketball competitions;fully making use of the basic role of school basketball; improving basketball fields and other facilities.
