Evolution of Human Society saw the progression of enterprise management ideology. It grows side by side with the advance of social productive practice and economic development. Meanwhile, the ongoing economical globalization relentlessly drags enterprises management into a new era. Now, basketball industry, an integral part of Sports Performance Industries, is being bombarded with problems one after another and these problems have been main sources to impede the sustainable growth of Chinese Basketball Industry. Furnished by the theory of supply chain management, and based on the achievements of sociology, this research is meant to set up analytical framework of supply chain for CBA players and sequentially makes research combining the empirical and specified analysis.Results:1) Supply Chain for CBA, a knowledge-intensive industry characterized by intensive labor, is a chain of supply and demand with low industrialization. Those core enterprises, among which a strong network holds them together, has become driving force to give the chain momentum. This not only makes an integration of all basketball clubs in longitude, but also incorporates them in latitude.2) There are however some features, including that of being unique, time efficiency, the ambiguity of ownership. These give the Supply Chain for CBA a Chinese tinge. It is a good demonstration of the fact that the management of sports in China lag far behind the growth of Chinese economy. These discernable characteristics, subject to so many sways of factors either direct or indirect, shows that CBA and its players were born from Chinese professional competition, not from marketing economy.3) There are some forms of relationships in the chain. They are, to name just a few, principal-agent, contractual, possessive and trading relationships of multi-levels among individual groups of different interests. These complex relationships dominate ubiquitously the Supply Chain for CBA. Meanwhile, this system of management is predestined with many problems one after another. High cost plus with low efficiency distress the agents of Association. The sporadic instances of investment into state-run institutions by clubs were here and there. And there are many cases of indefinable ownership. In addition, problem as inappropriate layout of clubs crop up time after time while the indefinable ownership of intangible assets persists.4) The sustainable growth of NBA owes itself to the particular system of training of players. Certainly there are some favorable factors, such as the standardized system of laws within and guiding policies without, the perfect social security mechanism, the humane risk compensation system, the public welfare image with immense affinity and the unquestionable ownership of capital and labor. All these factors set a good model for CBA to grow after.5) The management directed by audience demand should be a vantage point, off which the supply chain of CBA might fly airborne. Audience demand makes both the start and the end of chain management. It should be regarded as an axis, around which the management revolves. It has to be noticed however that both unpredictable changing requirements of audience and differentiation among audience groups are able to subject the demand of audience under the influences due to various factors. This fact renders the clubs less adaptable to changes of market.Countermeasures and suggestions:It is essential to build up national talent pool for CBA and to set up the Customized mode of university-enterprise cultivation for administrative personnel. It is required to strengthen the cooperation among the three markets and to build robust platform which can greatly facilitate information exchange and drastically enhance CBA’s power of market adaptation. Meanwhile, it is absolutely necessary to further institutionalize and legalize CBA, and to make it a holy duty for government and sports administrations at various levels switch their functions and build in their mind the sense of priority for service. In any case, all these measures taken is meant to develop and expand Chinese basketball market and to give more reputation to Chinese clubs.
