Knowledge Mapping Research In Evolution Of Management Science Disciplines In China

With the development of last hundred years, there has been a geometrical increase in research team of management science, researchers of management science and the published articles. The field of management science has become a complex discipline with tremendous knowledge system and variety of branches. In the knowledge system of management science, the sources are not only consisting of rigorous mathematical models and logics, but also from many depictions of experience as well as conclusions from comparative. The problem of management forest is still exists with even more detailed differentiation. Thus there are many different research approaches to this field.In order to understand the system structure of management science for21st century and investigate the achievement and rules for the development of management science as well as making modifications to the traditional qualitative research mode, this paper adopt the Knowledge mapping theory method from metrology to study the management science based on data source from20important journals in Chinese management science from2000to2009. The discipline structure knowledge map of management science is proposed, which show the network structure of how management science has developed. This paper focuses on discipline structure, discipline frontier, and discipline support as well as scholar network by using scientific metrology, literature metrology, system science and computer science.This paper proposed Co word analysis method to investigate the theme and knowledge structure of management science, which makes the relations between theme structures and contents visually. The Author co-citation analysis method is adopted to seek the outstanding scholar, who made tremendous contribution in knowledge system of international management science research. Besides, this method is also used to distinguish different research team, their similarity, relations and relative status. In order to trace the development of management science in recent10years, both Co word, Author co-citation analysis have been investigate, which investigate the dynamic development and evolvement. The information obtained is then explained in terms of scientific knowledge, which helps to explore the knowledge mode of this research field.Based on the methodology mentioned above, this paper mainly focuses on the followings:The knowledge atlas of discipline support of management science in China. Firstly, the knowledge atlas of China management science fund is derived with emphasize on analysis and evolvement of key fund projects. Secondly, the classification of research institute for management science in China is analyzed. Lastly, the fund support between different research institutes is investigated.The knowledge atlas of discipline structure of management science in China. Firstly, the knowledge atlas of discipline structure of management science is proposed based on Co word analysis and frequency analysis, and the main branches are analyzed. Secondly, the three important branches are studied, along with representative results and scholars. Lastly, the time intervals are partitioned for literatures and the evolving law of discipline structure for management science is investigated.The knowledge atlas of discipline infiltration of management science in China. Secondly, the three effects on complex network of research teams are investigated. Lastly, the evolvement analysis for coauthor network is studied based on three different time intervals and the possible research directions in future are discussed.The main results of this study is given as following:The university and college play important parts in research institute for management science in China, the research institutes are mainly supported by the national natural science fund, the research capability gap between different research institutes is large,it is necessary for the national natural science fund to strengthen the support for basal discipline.The discipline structure of management science in China can be described as three main branches:Company and enterprise management;management foundation and methods;macroscopical management and policy research.Genetics algorithms and economic improvement are the main hotspots during the ten years.In the impacts of citation analysis,the representative scholars are Zhang Weiying,Chen Jin,Chen Xiaoyue. Besides,the representative literatures are the game theory and information economy written by Zhang Weiying and the technology innovation written by Fu Jiaji.The representative journals are science research management,economy research, management science journal.The coauthor network for management science scholars in China has a high multitudinousness coefficient, representing a small world effect.The corporation rate among different authors in management science research is increasing day by day.There is an obvious team structure in the present coauthor network and the number and scale of the team are enlarging.Howerever, there is a low corporation rate among different teams.
