The Study On The New Development Of China’s Regional Economy

The regional economic development is a major issue that most countries in the world must respond to actively during the process of their rapid economic development, especially for the powerful nations. This issue is also a big problem for the construction and economic development of China. Guided by the thought of reform and opening-up, especially since the "Eleventh Five-Year", China has made great achievements in the regional economic development which means it has attained a Chinese-featured path and become one of the most unique, the most outstanding and the most beautiful and wonderful landscape in China’s reform and opening-up tide. The Chinese-featured path of regional economic development is guided by the Marxism and it always put the Scientific Outlook on Development into practice. Taking the current Chinese situation into consideration, this path also tries to sustain the social stability by promoting the Reform and Opening-up and by borrowing ideas from the foreign countries. With the subject of harmonious regional development and the guidance of regional development strategy, this path will be mainly carried out by the local provincial government who are to establish the proper policies for accelerating the Chinese regional economy. In order to go through this path stably, the local government should know well the local conditions when they are making decisions, and master the functions of each region and promote the regional cooperations under the guidance of strengthening macro-control, and coordinate the urban and rural development. By pushing the process of urbanization and industrialization gradually, the aim of this path, namely the collective prosperity in China, will finally be achieved. At present, China’s regional economic development shows healthy conditions. However, there are still some ticklish problems and conflicts to be solved. Studying and exploring the new era of China’s regional economic development issues are theoretically and practically important for promoting the adjustment of economic structure, changing the mode of economic development and promoting regional coordinated development.Guided by the Marxist Economic Theory and Scientific Outlook on Development, this thesis begins with the basic principles and thought of regional economy, and then has a preview of the theories and development of Chinese regional economy and of the related developing experience abroad, and mainly analyzes the present issues in Chinese regional economy so as to give some constructive suggestions and try to predict the future trends. This thesis puts forward five suggestions to the present development of Chinese regional economy:(Ⅰ) perfecting the laws and regulations and reforming the regional management system;(Ⅱ) excelling the pattern and developing the new economic growth points;(Ⅲ) deepening the co-operations of different regions and promoting an interactive regional development;(Ⅳ) strengthening and improving the macro-control and perfecting the system of regional policy;(Ⅴ) adjusting the distribution of the industries in order to have the smooth transference of industries among the regions. This thesis predicts the basic trends of Chinese regional economy, and contends that the development of Chinese regional economy should be carried out under the guidance of the Marxism and handle the relationship between central and local government so as to spur the equalization of basic public services and accelerate the innovations of science and technology during the Twelfth Five-Year Plan Period. In the future, the development of Chinese regional economy should be guided by the Review of National Economic and Social Development during the Twelfth Five-Year Plan Period, and it should change from the "growing pole development" to the "growing axis development", from the "land economic zone" to the "ocean economic zone",from the "urban agglomeration development" to the "integrated development", from the "administrative region of the economy" to the "economical region of the economy", and from " common and obvious improvement" to "common prosperity"...
