East Asia is one of the world’s fastest growing economies, while theinternational trade is an important engine for its economic growth. East Asiancountries in general implement the export-oriented development strategy. East Asiantrade characteristics can be summarized as follows, as a whole; they exportmanufactured goods to other countries of the world, however, within the region, theEast Asian countries formed a vertical division of work system between them to tradethe intermediate goods. This mode is rare in other parts of the world.In recent years, the international division of work in East Asia is changing.Regional production networks was gradually formed, which is characterized bydiversified and flat. It has also changed the traditional pattern of trade in East Asia.Especially after the subprime crisis, East Asian countries’ external demand suddenlydropped and lost the support of export-oriented growth model. In the process of thereconstruction of East Asian trading system, the adjustment of global imbalances, thechange in the relative strength of the economies in the region and the development ofregional and international cooperation system will play very important role.The object of this paper is the development of East Asian trade. In the paper, theauthor analyzed the internal logic and External Influencing factors of the East Asiantrade. The first chapter is introduction. This chapter analyzes the background andsignificance, makes a literature review and analyzes the innovation and deficiencies.The second chapter discusses the history of the development of the regional tradeprocess in East Asian. The third chapter discusses the change of international divisionof labor in East Asia area and the influence to the regional trade development. Thefourth chapter discusses the regional monetary and financial cooperation in East Asiaand the influence to the regional trade development. The fifth chapter discusses theinternational political relations in East Asia and the relationship with the regionaltrade development. The sixth chapter discusses the regional trade model transformation and China’s role and strategic choice.This article points out that the regional trade in East Asia have sometransformation from the vertical trade to network of trade, from single to multiplephase structure plane structural, from the overseas market demand leading mode todomestic demand leading mode transformation. At the same time, China will play akey role in the process of the trade transformation in East Asia. The strategic choiceof expanding domestic demand and improving the ability of the final product marketmake an important influence, not only to China’s economic and trade development,but also to the development of the regional trade in East Asian.
