Studies On Forestry Enterprises’Sustainable Development In China

Forestry is a green industry as well as a public welfare undertaking. Forestry enterprises are destined to undertake the responsibilities of both protecting the environment and serving for the society. So it is vitally important to establish the concept of sustainable development of forestry enterprises and take the theory of sustainable development as the guideline. Only under the principle of sustainable development, the reforms and development of forestry enterprises will realize the harmonious and stable development in economy, ecological environment and culture. Forestry enterprises are the most active part in the development of forestry economy and play an important role in the process of economic development. Meanwhile, the forestry enterprises possess ample timber resource and as the timber resource is the environmental basis of sustainable development, forestry enterprises thus occupy an important place in the realization of sustainable development. Achieving the sustainable development of forestry enterprises and the harmony and stability of the forest community is of great practical importance of realizing the continuous development of our nation.In order to achieve sustainable development, the forestry enterprise should not only consider the sustainable utilization of forest resource and continuous improvement of ecological environment, but also should coordinate economic, social, cultural and spiritual benefits in forestry, including meeting human material and spiritual requirements, improving human welfare and realizing comprehensive benefits in forestry. In the national NPC and CPPCC in2013, building a beautiful China and constructing ecological civilization were listed as the nation’s long-term plan related to the well being of people, the future of the nation and the continuous development of China, and obtained great attention from the central to local government at all levels. The ideas of achieving green development, recycling development and low-carbon development, constructing a ecological civilization society of resource saving and friendly environment, and comprehensively strengthening sustainable development ability all provide a policy support to the sustainable development of forestry enterprises.The dissertation takes the sustainable development theory, stakeholder theory, and innovation theory, the basic theory of economics, management theory and forestry theory as the theory support. It adopts the combination of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis as the method. Through both empirical analysis and normative analysis, it analyzed the experience of foreign forestry enterprises’ sustainable development and got enlightenment for the enterprises in China. It took respective experiences from three developed countries, Australia, Japan and the US, of sustainable development of forestry enterprises as examples and the state-owned enterprises and listed enterprises in China as research objects, explained the status of Chinese forestry enterprises, pointed out their problems of and analyzed the cause of the problems. It also analyzed the factors that influence the sustainable development and constructed an index system in evaluation for forestry enterprises. Based on empirical research, it chose index and took AHP analysis method to evaluate the sustainable developing capability of forestry enterprises in China and to make a comparative analysis of the influential factors of sustainable development of forestry enterprises in China, which makes several new explorations for our forestry enterprises. Based on SWOT approach, it put forward countermeasures and suggestions, which has both theoretical and practical significance to the forestry enterprises in China and in Heilongjiang province as well. This article provides a scientific foundation and technical support for the realization of continuous development of our nation as well as the sustainable development of forestry enterprises in China.There are three innovations in this article: first, it constructs an index system in evaluation on influential factors of sustainable development of forestry enterprises in china, which makes an addition to the measurement of sustainable development of forestry enterprises in China; second, it uses stakeholder theory to evaluate sustainable development of Chinese forestry enterprises from multidimensions and discovers the key problems which have been influencing the sustainable development of Chinese forestry enterprises; third, it adopts the SWOT approach to analyze the opportunities and crisis in the development of forestry enterprises, their advantages and disadvantages, which points out the strategies of sustainable development of Chinese forestry enterprises and puts forward reasonable countermeasures and suggestions.
