This is a dissertation on the military expenditure and the national finance in the transition from Fubing Army System (FAS) to Mercenary Army System (MAS) caused by the collapse of Land Equalization ("Jun Tian") from Tang to Song of ancient China, which will focus on the relationship between Militarized Finance and the Nationwide Market in Northern Song Dynasty ("Song Court") that had long-termed implemented the MAS as a basic part of political system. Then the analysis on the relationship will be divided into two periods:the Physical-Product Fiance Period (PPFP), and the Monetize Finance Period (MFP).On specifics, firstly the analysis in PPFP will put up with historical research in detail and make emphasis on Government Purchases System (called "Ru Zhong" by Song Court) and the State Monopolization System (called "Jin Que" in Song), by which try to find out connections during Ru Zhong and Jin Que, explanation in essence the relation between Song Court and tradesman class, and more objective assessment to Court’s fiscal policies. After this, the analysis will move to another larger group in Nationwide Market, the owner-peasants and tenants ("Farmers") around the whole country of Song, and will concentrate on monetary policies involving Wang Anshi Reform to farmers in order to find its true purpose.During both PPFP and MFP, however, the Nationwide Market implied the irreplaceable assurance for Song Court to maintain food and other supplies to huge armed forces massed along the Capital (Bianliang) and northern border areas. Therefore, those practical and workable fiscal and monetary policies or even administrative orders with aim to hold the balance between the finance and trade shall not only be with great importance to PPFP and MFP, but also be the keys to make some new re-explorations on ecnomic history in Song Dynasty.
