Based On The Perspective Of Trade Freedom Of Jiangsu Coastal Development Research

The coastal areas of Jiangsu is the economic lowlands in East China, arising from the effects of multi-elements such as historical, natural and governmental ones. The circulation accumulation reason and result mechanism in the new economic geography theory is an inner micro mechanism of it. The economy in coastal areas of Jiangsu has been developing at a low speed because of inner and outside disadvantages. Freeness of trade of domestic and overseas has been increased to have broken the historical barrier. The development history of coastal areas in the U.S., Japan and Korea also illustrate that external liberalization and the quickening of domestic integration process is vital to a rapid development of coastal areas.Researchers at home and abroad have investigated the impacts of freeness of trade on the differences of the internal economic geography in one country and reached valuable conclusions. However, these investigations have probed into the relationship of differences between trade freedom and economic geography and regional development from the perspective of foreign trade liberalization or internal integration. In contrast, this thesis has constructed a model of two countries and three areas in accordance with the special structure of the coastal areas of Jiangsu. In this model, the author put external freeness of trade, interregional freeness of trade and intra-regional freeness of trade in one structure and investigated the influences on industrial portion promotion, income gap shrinking between economic-backward areas and developed areas and improvement of average GDP by freeness of trade promotion in the economic-backward areas.Theories have proved that for economic-backward areas, the improvement of trade freedom can help the increasing of industrial portions, the improvement of average GDP and shrinking of income gaps. But in different combinations of external and intra-regional trade liberalization levels, industrial portions may decrease in backward areas and the similar influence on industrial portions from the improvement of interregional freeness of trade between the economic-backward areas and the prosperous areas will not appear. The basic conclusion in this experimental research is in accordance with that of basic theoretical researches.Keeping on opening to the world, promoting the integration level between the coastal areas in Jiangsu and prosperous areas and decreasing trade costs in three cities in Jiangsu are preconditions necessary to the soaring of coastal economy in Jiasngsu. Duing the process, such principles as levels and priorities in adjustment of freeness of trade must be adhered to.
