The Research To Uban-rural Integration In Space Development Strategy Of Xi’an Metropolitan Area

"Space", where people carry out social activities, is the necessary body of public life and right existence. Space coming from historical development varies in scale and function. Spatial structure, as a form of distribution and combination in space, is a comprehensive reflection of politics, economy, culture, production, nature conditions, engineering technology and architecture space. Metropolis region belongs to the urbanization area which takes big city as the core and keeps close connection with neighboring regions. During the rapid development of economy and urbanization, more and more metropolis regions are coming into being and becoming important carriers of life. The practice of other countries indicates that metropolis region is a new arrangement form of space in a larger scope during circulation of collection and scatter. Metropolis region is both the top form of urbanization and the best carrier of the harmonious development of urban and rural areas. Since the reform and opening to the outside, the spatial structure of metropolis regions has fundamental changes in China. However, the change is growing. It is one of focuses of research in the field of city and regional economy to care for the process and explore its function and tendency.All countries have experienced the period of conflicts between urban and rural areas. Since 1949, China takes different treats to urban and rural areas. Generally, industry is over agriculture, cities are over villages, urban residents are over rural residents. Thus, we have prosperous cities and poor country. The growing gap between the urban and the rural connecting with issues concerning agriculture, countryside and farmers brings positive influence to the development of productive forces and construction of harmonious society. The urban and rural areas are two parts of spatial system of metropolis regions, which are leading bodies of life, activities and development of humans. Their balanced development attaches importance to the optimization of overall economy and maximization of welfare. In fact, the process of urban-rural integration in space is modernization process of agriculture, countryside and farmers.Xi’an, as a metropolis region, is composed of not only a developed big city but also middle-sized cities and poor countryside. It is regarded as the typical representative of Chinese social structure by scholars. Globalization, informationization and marketization powerfully promote the development of economy and the evaluation of municipal space of Xi’an. At the same time, we should be aware of the unbalanced development within it and the dual structure between the urban and rural structure. Many people in countryside are limited to limited agriculture field. Economies of scale of agriculture is impossible. The urban-rural income gap between the and the leads to the shortage of effective demand in this area and becomes the possible danger of economic development. On the other side, the space arrangement of Xi’an is not scientific. The urbanization is so rapid that the resources becomes shortage. Although there is a increasing connection between Xi’an and neighboring countryside, but their integration needs time.Base on researches of other scholars home and abroad, the paper summaries space structure theory of metropolis region from the perspectives of management, geography, sociology, statistics and economics and constructs a research frame of space structure about metropolis region on the background of urban-rural integration and Globalization, informationization and marketization. Furthermore, the paper analyses the structural space-evolution mechanism of metropolis region(Xi’an) during urban-rural. The conclusions of the papers:First, metropolis region is the leading carrier of balanceing urban and rural development. Second, urban-rural integration in space is the important access to a harmonious society. Third, the arrangement of principal function region is the practice of scientific development perspective. Fourth, the government plays an active role in urban-rural integration in space. Fifth, urbanization, industrialization and the industrialization of agriculture are power of uban-rural integration in space. The research is valuable in promoting integration of Xi’an, Xianyang and Yangling and making Xi’an keep pace with such cities as Chengdu and Chongqing carrying out urban-rural reform so as to improve harmony of rural and urban development in the northwest China.
