With the progress of the national urbanization, urban railway transportation systems are increasingly used in large and medium sized cities in our country, for their advantages of high-speed, safety and unaffected by the road and weather conditions. It has become an important solution to the city’s traffic congestion problems. The communications based train control (CBTC) systems is the most advanced railway signaling system that is widely used in railway transportation projects in cities.CBTC signaling system is a large safety-critical system. Its system testing and integration testing are usually in large-scale with complex configuration, long cycle and high costs in the real line testing. Therefore, this paper focuses on the testing and validation technology for CBTC signaling system. To achieve informatization, automation and reduce the time and labor costs, the simulation testing and validation strategy based on information system is proposed. The simulation testing and verification platform based on this strategy is designed and implemented on PCs, in which the core technology and related algorithms are studied in detail.Firstly, the system definition, requirements and system architecture of CBTC are analyzed, and based on the testing and verification requirements, simulation testing and validation strategy for CBTC signaling system is studied, including requirements synchronization, environmental data configuration and management, automated testing and information feedback. Secondly, according to the simulation testing and validation strategy, simulation technology and testing and validation technology based on information systems are studied deeply. By building and analyzing the testing model and analyzing workflow, the data-model and the logic-model are created, and the application data exchange technology is realized. Then the simulation test platform for CBTC is designed and implemented, during which the key technologies are studied emphatically, including the technologies about station information, train movement simulation algorithm and automatic testing technology. Finally, one of the core components of CBTC--interlocking system is studied in-depth in order to present an automatic, graph theory-based approach to route location, which can be used in the interlocking logic verification. In this new approach, a component-based model is created to represent the station layout topology, and a modified matrix algorithm based on graph theory is used to locate the routes information in a given station. Then the strict efficiency analysis of this algorithm is given in this paper, compared with a search-based algorithm.In this paper, we focus on the research of testing and validation technology for CBTC signaling system, design and achieve a CBTC simulation test platform, which has been applied in the actual test project of signaling system. This platform effectively improves the efficiency of the CBTC testing and validation and the test quality, reduces the dependence on real environment during the testing and validation of CBTC. It has great practical value in the signaling system testing.
