Starting1970’s a code switching process as a phenomenon of language contact began to attract attention of domestic and foreign linguists. The linguists have studied the code switching from different perspectives such as sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, and syntax. This research work aims to present the basic theoritical issues related to the code switching based on the views of these linguists and explain the Mongolian Chinese code switching model and the ratio of the parts of the speeches in the code switching using materials that were chosen from the "Mongolian dialect investigations plan" and the on-the-spot-survey materials in four different prefectures such as Khorchin Zuun Gariin Dund Khoshuu, Khorchin Baruun Gariin Dund Khoshuu, Khorchin Zuun Gariin Khoid Khoshuu, Shuluun Khuh Khoshuu. The author also uses theories and methods of the study of code switching and the Matrix language Frame Model (MLF model) which was created by an American linguist Myers Scotton and tries to determine the code switching sentence structure based on the speaking materials of the prefectures mentioned above. The research consists of an intoduction part, four main chapters, the conclution, appendix and the bibliography. In the introduction, the author presents the theoretical and practical significance of the work, previous studies, goal and objectives of the work, source data of the research work, and the methods of the research work. The first chapter presents the theoretical issues related to the code switching, its reasons, and influential factors on the code switching and the types of the code switching. In the second chapter the author analyses the Mongolian Chinese code switching of the people in the prefectures mentioned above. In the third chapter the code switching structure and the characteristics of code switching were analyzed in two different levels, the code switching between sentences, code switching within sentences. The forth chapter discusses the influential factors of the code switching, issues related to the code switching, and reasons of the phenomenon. The conclusion sums up the research work and gives the author’s ideas about the regulations on the code switching. In the end of the research work the survey materials were attached.
