Studies On The Interaction In The Micro Blogging

Human beings are social animals. Advances in means of communication will inevitably bring about changes across the society. Micro blogging, as a representative social media that subverts traditional procedures of information dissemination, has dramatically changed social media structure, discourse framework, social interaction structure and the public domain.In essence, micro blogging is the interaction between one and another, but researches from the social psychology perspective into individual-self structure of users, interaction mechanism of micro blogging, micro blogging users’group psychology are yet to be made. It is argued in this paper that better understanding and interpretation of micro blogs demands abandoning technological perspective and reverting to the fundamental principles of social operation by using the classical social psychology theory to work out the picture in its entirety and in depth.The symbolic interaction theory put forward by Mead, Goffman, and Collins unfolds us a fact:there lies a corresponding relation among the individual self, social structure and group psychology. What plays a divisive role in between is the mode and type of interaction. Taking advantage of symbolic interaction theory as the theoretical framework, this paper is designed to explain the social psychological processes created in such an interaction in terms of individual self, the social structure and group psychology through analyses of as a representative social media—micro blogging.Micro blogging bears with it four major functions, including releasing, paying attention, forwarding, and commenting, which are "gesture" conversations made in interpersonal interactions, a new way of interpersonal connection. Through interaction via micro blogging, emotional energy comes into being, thus completing the interaction ritual chain. Micro blogging integrates information interaction, interpersonal interaction and social networks, resulting in a "group meeting" effect:Ⅰ know the attitude of others, others know my attitude, and I know other people know my posture while others know I know his posture. Knowing each other through postures, individual self "I" and the "Me" merge with each other, so that the "melting pot self" characterized by gifting, sharing and collaboration activates an intense emotional experience out of the individual. Such an intense emotional experience generates interaction group symbols (sacred objects). With each forwarding, comments are as effective as a crowd gathering on the square yelling with raised arms. The common emotional energy further produces strong sense of morality calling on maintenance of fairness and justice. Micro blogging successfully "assembles" anonymous users who are in a state of disunity on the traditional Internet. It is by means of this mechanism that micro blogging interactive mode operates.In interaction via micro blogging,"Me" exhibits the spirit of gifting and sharing, of collaboration and moral self-enhancement. The effect of interaction between "Ⅰ" and "Me" which generates the "melting pot self" characterized by gifting, sharing and collaboration has on "I" is enhanced sympathy and higher ability to act as others, moral self-reinforcing, and gradual formation of democratic personality.As a representative social media, Micro blogging guides the mass media away from the dissemination era into communication era. In micro blogging era, popular culture is increasingly breaking down the traditional classification of "tastes"—professional and elegant "legitimate interests" begin to give way to talents among civilian, and being professional and elegance begins to give way to popularism and idealism. Meanwhile, interaction via micro blogging realizes technically the control of bureaucracy, as well as diminish and decentralization of social power. In micro blogs, there is great improvement in the inequality between individuals and institution. The resulting consequence is that the interaction ritual chain is significantly compressed, and the hierarchical structure of society also tends increasingly to flatten.Before the advent of social media such as micro blogging, the contradiction between different types of interactive ritual and population size enable "the rabble", as Le Pen calls it, to be produced at any time. Interaction via micro blogging eases the above contradiction, gets rid of the fate as "rabbles" in group interaction, and achieves rationality within the group. Through the analyses of the interactive approaches of micro blogging, this paper clarifies the relation among self-clarification, wisdom overlapping, emotional overlapping and group rationality of interactions via micro blogging; An interactive mode featured by integration of group rationality produced by micro blogging is proposed after analyses of two types of interaction rituals:platform interaction and roundtable interaction produces interactive mode. The group rationality shaping process lies in the combination of such mechanisms as self-clarification, wisdom overlapping, emotional overlapping of micro blogging with interaction ritual types is to create groups of rational process.Studies and revealing the interaction between micro blogging and social psychology help to produce references for using micro blogging to build a democratic legal society in practice. This will not only contribute to construction of social psychology, but also is conducive to social management, so as to benefit China’s long-term stability and harmonization.
