Traditional physical education health preservation is a part of the excellent Chineseculture and it is accompanied with the development of Chinese civilization. It has aneffect on self-cultivation, physical health and prolonging life. Unfortunately, thoughpeople have had the practices of traditional physical education health preservation forthousands of years and have formed the rich thoughts on health preservation. However,these thoughts are like scattered pearls, scattering in the practices of traditional physicaleducation health preservation and emerged in the literature; and these thoughts have notbeen picked up and put them into a string, which resembles as the formation of Chinesetraditional physical education health preservation has not been putting into a set ofsystem. Based on this, the research sets the history of thought as the starting point andfurthers the study into Chinese traditional physical education health preservation by theaspects of ideological history. The study aims at building up the monographs of theformation of traditional physical education health preservation history and enriching thetraditional physical education health preservation theory as well as promoting thefurther development of it and later provides a theoretical system of scientific value.This research focuses on the study of thoughts on traditional physical educationhealth preservation and adopts the methods of literature review, expert interviews andlogical analysis and other research methods. It firstly tracks on the development oftraditional physical education health preservation and then clarifies the main line of thedevelopment of the thoughts on traditional physical education history. On thefoundation of the reflection on the classics and the elite discourses of the traditionalphysical education health preservation and also based on the knowledge of it bypersonal practices, and used theories and beliefs of general knowledge as materials, theresearch constructs the theoretical framework of traditional physical education health preservation.The research mainly discussed the following issues and obtained the correspondingconclusion.Firstly, in some context, the thoughts of the traditional physical education healthpreservation are the formation of health practices by doing traditional physicaleducation and the ideological concept of life. Traditional physical education healthpreservation is not immutable and frozen; however, it stretches and lingers in thetraditional physical education health preservation practices of people; and guides thedevelopment of it.Secondly, based on the “historical joint point”, the development of traditionalphysical education health preservation has been divided into the following six periodsand reflected a historical line, namely The book of Changes, which is the source ofthoughts on traditional physical education health preservation. The thoughts ontraditional physical education health preservation were formed in the Spring andAutumn Period and the Warring States and developed in the Qin and Tan Periods. Theyhad been accumulated and assembled in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The inheritanceand transformation of these thoughts happened in the year of the Republic of China.Finally, the traditional physical education health preservation thoughts were enrichedand diversified in the New China.Thirdly, the thought of the unity of people and nature in the traditional physicaleducation health preservation ideology of China is the generally from the harmoniousmixture of the man’s internal environment and external unity with nature, which guidesthe practice of traditional physical education health preservation.the balance of Yin andYang is an important rule of traditional physical education health preservation, which isbased on the mutual transformation between Yin and Yang. It uses the body practice asthe basic means and then influences on the internal and external environment of man’shealth; finally, regulates the balance of Yin and Yang of the human body.The ideology of the traditional physical education health preservation is rooted inreinforcing primordial qi, mixing the blood and Qi; using thought as the guidance.Putting mind static; forming body and spirit as well as cultivating body and spirits.the traditional physical education health preservation emphasis on three thoughts, namely“dynamic type of health preservation”,“statically keeping spirits” and “moving in thestatic”.reflects the health preservation theories in the dynamic with somewhat static,inthe static with somewhat dynamic and, dynamic and static combination.
