After lean production was put forward, till now it has gotten wide application inJapan as well as western countries, and was regarded as the third production modelafter craft-ship production and mass production. Although our country began to touchlean production in late1970s, its relative study is still far behind compared withwestern countries, so it is difficult for lean production’s researchers and practitionersto make clear lean production’s application effect and implementation state in ourcountry.In light of themistakes within the application of lean production and anadequacies of plant design,this dissertation puts forward the concept and theoreticalframework of lean design.With increasing competition in the market and increasinglysophisticated information technology environment, the lean design is the inevitablechoice and trends of improving enterprise management competitiveness.Based onthese problems, this paper did the following jobs:First, this paper introduces the basic theory of lean product, and explains theconcept from the aspects of idea and technology. Based on this, the paper particularlyintroduces the concept frame, features, content and application domain of lean design(LD), and subsequently, introduces the basic theory and methodologies of enterpriseperformance measurement.Second, based on the theory research of lean design, this paper constructs theevaluation index system of lean design, and provides three dimensions, includingproduction system design, logistics system design and management system design.And then, enterprise performance evaluating system was constructed, including time,quality, financial and service. Correlation hypothesis of lean design to enterpriseperformance were proposed.Third, SEM was used to check the correlation between lean design and enterpriseperformance.Last, this paper concluded the impact of dean design to the improvedperformance of enterprise.The reaearch of this paper will contribute to enhance the systematicness andscientificalness of lean design, so as to eliminate the resource of waste during theoperation of enterprise. It can further enhance the performance level and marketcompetitiveness of enterprise, making the enterprise remain incincible.
