This article demonstrates the necessity and usefulness of character in the design of our tourism souvenir through the investigation of China tourism souvenir market. With the specific forms of China's tourism souvenir design and character's application, it summarizes the basic principle of all-directional design concept which applied in tourism souvenir by comprehensive application mode of character, and puts forward what kind of character should be selected in the use of tourism souvenir. The paper also expounds the core task of character application in the tourism souvenir design, which should be culture integration with design, sensibilities integration with design, aesthetic feeling integration with design and character integration with tourism souvenir's application function. It emphasizes the originality of character in the application of tourism souvenir under the principle of product design. This article summarizes that character used in tourism souvenir design can expand our tour souvenir design's concept and enhance the level of Chinese tourism souvenir design to a certain extent. Meanwhile, it has positive significance for the spread of character and character art in the world.
