The research on income distribution has always been one of the focuses in the field of economics. Our country’s current outstanding problems of income distribution are the unfair distribution of income and the amplification of income gap. In recent years, China’s economy has maintained rapid development. However, following the rapid economic growth and constant increase in the general residents’ incomes, the income gap is enlarging, which easily lead to social conflicts and block up rapid and healthy economic growth. To prevent the emergence of "large in the end, small in the middle" M-type social income distribution trends, the distribution of income needs to be straightened out through expanding the proportion of middle-income groups from the field of income distribution. In order to achieve different income groups share the achievements of reform and development, the income gap between different income groups should be narrowed. Judging from the forming and development of middle-income groups, middle-income groups as an integral part of the members of the society exit in different countries and regions, as well as in different economic development period. There is an important role and influence in the course of the reality of the economy and society run. From the point of view of economic development and social stability, the role of the middle-income groups should not be neglected. Hence, foster large-scale middle-income groups become important goals for modern society development to pursue. The report of the18th National Congress of the CPC again articulated the important task of deepening the income distribution reform and proposed to" gradually narrow the gap in income distribution, middle-income group continues to expand". Meanwhile, expanding the proportion of middle-income groups is also the specific requirements of forming reasonable and orderly income allocated pattern and fully completing the ambitious goal of a well-off society in an all-round way. Therefore, this paper formed the reasonable definition of middle-income groups in China and grasped the trend of its laws through measuring and studying the current situation and the movements of the middle-income groups. This paper found out the effect factors of expanding the proportion of middle-income groups, and formulated feasible measures and policy to enlarge the proportion of middle-income group in our country, which has important significance for our country the realization of common prosperity and the comprehensive construction well-off society. The structure and main content of this paper mainly consists of the following four parts:The first part is the first chapter Introduction. This part mainly puts forward the research background and the significance of theoretical and practical and tracks the review and literature at home and abroad, and explains the research method and research content, data selection and innovation. The second part is the second chapter the study of the theory and method. This part mainly reviewed the relevant theoretical research of the problem of middle-income groups in China, and explained the research method in order to lay a solid foundation for the theory and method. The third part is the empirical research from the third chapter to the sixth chapter. This part is mainly about the present situation and the change to the middle-income groups in China by empirical analysis and the factors of its macro and micro effects. This paper adopted China’s Economy, Population, Nutrition and Health Survey (CHNS) data from1989to2009to research the middle-income groups in China:The third chapter used modern nonparametric statistics adaptive kernel density estimation method to simulate the general income distribution of the middle-income groups in China. This paper adopt the relative distribution method to study on the specific process of the changes of income distribution from the long-term and short-term two angle respectively through researching on the population changes between control group with reference group for different years under different income level. The fourth chapter proposed the framework and model of middle-income groups in China based on the income distribution, and measured the identification standard and the proportion of the middle-income groups in China. This part carried on the comparative analysis of income distribution trends on China’s middle-income groups, which provide the technical preparation for the following empirical analysis. The fifth chapter adopted macro-dynamic range decomposition methods to research on the decomposition of the macro economic effects of changes in the proportion of middle-income groups in China. This part gave the comprehensive analysis of the specific economic meanings of "economic growth effect","income distribution effect "and "changes of standard effect" in the change of middle-income group’s proportion. Meanwhile, this chapter proposed new methods combined dynamic range decomposition method with adaptive kernel density estimation method to simulate the change process of the dynamic interval on the impact of the changes of income distribution and the proportion of middle-income groups in China. The sixth chapter adopts the methods combined static analysis with dynamic comparison to research factors that influence the income and its changes of China’s middle-income groups from a micro perspective. First, this chapter adopts the unconditional quantile regression methods to estimate the quantile of the middle part of the overall sample, which reflects the personal characteristics of the micro contribution to the middle-income group income in China. Secondly, FFL decomposition method is applied for microscopic decomposition of income changes of the middle-income groups. This paper conducted a comprehensive and system microeconomic factors decomposition of income changes for different stages of the middle-income groups in China, and discussed micro factors affect of income changes of China middle-income groups in depth. The fourth part is the seventh chapter of the summary and prospect. This part puts forward relevant suggestions and measures, and the next step research prospects combined with the above research conclusion.
