Object:By collecting ancient prescriptions containing Rhizoma Arisaematis,consructing database and making full use of advanced date mining technology,this paper counts the dosage,processing methods,the form,attending diseases and types and drug compatibility of Rhizoma Arisaematis.Basing on the relationship among its toxicity,efficacy and different syndromes,to explore the compatibility rules about Rhizoma Arisaematis,this paper provides theoretical basis for reasonable clinical application.Methods:This paper combines document analysis and mathematical statistics.1.Sorting out the toxicity and efficacy of Rhizoma Arisaematis from historical records aims at analyzing related factors about its toxicity and efficacy.2.Date mining methods are applied to research the attenuation and synergism of Rhizoma Arisaematis.3.The inherent relationships between drugs and diseases,drugs and syndromes are extracted by searching association rules to summarize utilizing laws of Rhizoma Arisaematis and to analuze its dosage and compatibility for different syndromes.Results:Firstly,through sorting out different factors with the impact of toxicity and efficacy of Rhizoma Arisaematis,this paper has summarized relevant factors with its toxicity and efficacy,including producing area,gathering,processing drugs,dosage,decoction method,main maladies and compatibility of medicines.Secondly,1398 Rhizoma Arisaematis prescriptions involving 666 kinds of herbal medicine,132 kinds of diseases and 118 kinds of syndromes are gathered to establish infomation database of prescriptions of Rhizoma Arisaematis.Thirdly,to explore the application principles of Rhizoma Arisaematis.The processed drugs are used for most of oral dosage,while raw Rhizoma Arisaematis is used more in external prescriptions than in oral dosage.Fourthly,analyse ancient prescriptions containing toxicity and efficacy of Rhizoma Arisaematis,such as processing drugs and administration routes.Fifthly,by the science of statistics and the research of dosage rules,the majority oral drugs are within 3-9 grams,which is the scope of"Chinese Pharmacopoeia".Less dosage is used to treat children's illnes,while larger dosage is used to treat internal medical illness,such as stracle and arthralgia.Finally,the common drug combination and corresponding compatibility rule of different syndromes with Rhizoma Arisaematis have been summed up in this paper.Conclusions:First of all,toxicity and effiency of Rhizoma Arisaematis are all due to its nature.The main functions of Rhizoma Arisaematis are drying dampness and resolving phlegm,relieving spasm by calming endogenous wind and reducing swelling.The efficiency characteristics include clearing and activating the channles and collaterals,breaking the blood and dispersing the knots and sexual subsidence inverse.The deviation is the most important attribute of its toxicity.The main mechanisms of deviation Rhizoma Arisaematis are urgency and violence,warm-dry and the consumption of Yin.The main representations of its toxicity are numbing and pain of oral caity,and injured fetus and abortion.Second,balancing the relationship between toxicity and efficacy of Rhizoma Arisaematis is the key to making full use of it in medical practice.Third,based on attending diseases and syndromes,achieve the effect of reducing toxicity and increasing efficacy through drug compatibility.The important means to ensure the safety and efficacy of Rhizoma Arisaematis rational usage include moderate dosage,reasonable preparation,optimized dosage form,proper and ministration route and so on.
