Research On Federico Fellini's Films

Federico-Fellini is a world-class movie master.Throughout his career,Fellini created his own style "Felliniesque". Why Fellini has so much influence,the reason is that he interpreted the life ultimate significance unprecedentedly, such as sexual relations?the meaning of life?the belonging of the soul.He thought human only by following their own unconscious and human nature,entering to the irrational world and carnival world can find the ultimate meaning of life. From this perspective, this paper analyzes his unique spiritual connotation and artistic features.In introuction, based on a comprenhensive survey of study of Fellini and his films,this paper puts forward the aim of this reaserch,briefly introducing the meaning of study,its methodology and its train of thought.The body of paper consists of six chapters.Chapter one introduces the growth of Fellini and his career life.Chapter two, in combination with Italy's cultural background, explores sexual relations in his films. In his films, men have emotional anxiety and sexual anxiety and women are better than men both in emotional and sexual ability.Chapter three, from the perspective of existentialism, explains the the status of loneliness and alienation of human and the descriptions of the empty, meaningless of life in fellini's films.Chapter four, from two aspects of mysticism and fantasy, interpretates fellini's films,points out that the fantasy is the way of fellini for presents the real world. How to solve the problem of empty of life and ultimate meaning of life, Fellini believed that only by mysticism and fantasy, memories, dreams, human subconscious mind can lead human to truth, thus fellini's films are full of mystery and fantasy.Chapter five analyzes the carnival scenes and characters in fellini's films. Fellini thought that man should get rid of the bondage of reason, in accordance with the human instinct to life can be liberated from the real world, and fellini constructed a carnival world in his own movie. Carnival scenes include square, masquerade, rave party, banquet scene, variety theatre, etc.Carnival characters have physical defects or mental defects.Chapter six analyzes the fellini's film narrative and style. These include open narrative structure,narrational commentary, self-referential, mocumentary, its rich visual style and the style of performance. The conclusion discusses the fellini's impact on the world and China and points out that his influence is not limited in pure film circle, his film bearing the human mental problems of an era.
