A Study On The Folk Customs And Festivals Phrases Of The Yangtze Basin In The Ming And Qing Dynasties

Known as the "local encyclopedia", "Local Chronicles" contains a rich and comprehensive raw data. The two books "Chinese Local Record Series" and "Compilation of Folklore Materials in China" covers the entire area of the upper, middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River basin, providing valuable information for the study of folklore phrases in the Yangtze River valley during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.The full text is divided into six chapters:The first chapter is for introduction, which mainly introduces the reason and significance of this topic, the research method, the choice of corpus, the present situation of academic research and so on.The second chapter is about the definition and classification of the folklore phrases about the Seasons in the Yangtze River valley during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In this chapter, the connotation of the Seasons and the development of the Seasons from the pre-Qin to the Qing Dynasty were defined. Folklore phrases are classified according to the content, syllable, part of speech, and grammatical structure of the Seasons, and the reasons for the formation of the pattern after the classification are also analyzed in this chapter.The third chapter is about the characteristics of the folklore phrases about the Seasons in the Yangtze River valley during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The characteristics of folklore phrases are expressed in the form of diversity and multiple correspondences. The seriation includes the clustering of morpheme marking, synonyms, antonyms, and the clustering of the upper and lower words, which shows the normative, hierarchical and systematic of the formation of the folklore phrases about the Seasons. The stability of the folklore phrases about the Seasons is relative, meanwhile the variability is absolute, which embodied in its inheritance and variability.The fourth chapter analyzes the meaning of folklore phrases about the Seasons in the Yangtze River valley during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The meaning of folklore phrases about the Seasons is mainly composed of two aspects:the rational meaning and the color meaning. The development and evolution of the meaning mainly includes three forms:"expansion", "shrinking" and "transfer" of the meaning of the word. In this paper cluster of the same, similar, related, and relative words in the Yangtze River Basin to form word groups, which can reflect the way of thinking and cultural psychology of the people in the Yangtze River valley during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.The fifth chapter is about the textual research and explanation about folklore phrases about the Seasons, which has the unique Yangtze River valley regionality during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In this paper analyzes the origin, development and current situation of the folklore phrases about the Seasons in the upper, middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River basin, and analyzes the commonness and the reasons for the difference. Among them, the formation of commonness is related to immigration. There are differences among folklore phrases about the Seasons, whichmainly result from the combination of natural environment, folk belief, economic reason, political reason and so on. This reflected the broad and inclusive nature in Chinese traditional culture.The sixth chapter is for conclusion, which briefly summarizes the whole text, summed up the characteristics of the folklore phrases about the Seasons in the Yangtze River valley during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.and point out the limitations of the research and the future research direction.
