Contemporary Scanning On Marx's Critical Theory Of Fetishism

Critical theory of fetishism has a very important position in Marx's ideology. Georg Lukacs, the founder of western Marxism, refer to it as a theory that "contains all the historical materialism". The contemporary significance of this theory is not only embodied in its unique theory value, but also in its strong vitality and explanatory power in dealing with the new problems in the new era.As a theoretical formation that concerns about reality, Marx's critical theory of fetishism has its profound historical background and thought origin. Hegel, Feuerbach and Hess's theory or ideas of alienation, and the capitalism fetishism reality that was reflected in European literary works, have had a significant influence in the formation of the theory. Meanwhile, Marx's critical theory of fetishism also has experienced a process from immaturity to a fairly mature status. And the fetishism analysis from commodities, currencies to capital was the ultimate development stage of the theory. Marx's critical theory of fetishism has a very close relation to Marx's philosophy, critique of the political economy and the communist theory, so we should evaluate the historical position and theoretical value of it from a holistic view. According to Marx's theory, western Marxist, scholars from the former Soviet Union and eastern Europe have carried on the exploration of fetishism in capitalism and socialism respectively, but no one has over-achieve Marx's contribution yet.According to Marx's critical theory of fetishism, we reexamine the new changes in the contemporary capitalism and come to the conclusion that capital fetishism is one of the important driving force of contemporary capitalist economic financialization, and the neo-liberalism, with the market fetishism as its core, has brought heavy disaster to the capitalist world and to many developing countries. Based on Marx's critical theory of fetishism, we reexamine the current socialist market economy in our country, and found that the fetishism problem of socialist market economy has its objective necessity. Results from many factors, fetishism exists in production, exchange (circulation), distribution and consumption process in socialist market economy, but which was fundamentally different from fetishism in capitalist society. There is a realistic possibility in resisting fetishism phenomena under the socialist system in China. To curb the current fetishism phenomena effectively, we must insist on the guidance of people's subject status, on the premise of the liberation and development of the productive forces, let the government play its functions better, promoting the socialist legal construction, cultivating and carrying forward the core values of Chinese socialism, and strengthening the leadership of CCP. In addition, the thesis also gave brief prospects on curbing the fetishism phenomena.
