Human beings are living creatures with thought,and all human behaviors are guided,regulated and controlled by thought.In reality,from the perspective of experience,people tend to understand the meaning of "thought" and use this word in different context,but for the definition of "thought",different people have different interpretations.Due to the complexity of thought itself and the complicated relationship between human practice behavior,there is a lot of questions worth discussing,such as the flow of consciousness,the integration of the irrational and rational thought,the function of thought,the game and choice of thought,etc.The main idea of study is to reveal the essence and foundation of thought,which is helpful for us to understand,recognize the thought,and better phenomenon and problems form individual and social level.The angle and path of understanding thought between China and the West are different:China is defined from the point of the use of human beings,paying attention to the realization of the inner spiritual realm.The western part is discussed from the perspective of the relationship between thought and existence,and focuses on the eternal theme "know yourself".Thought is generated by the inner or external environment stimulation and triggered "symbolic reaction",usually in the form of consciousness,is what we realize in mind,is the process of brain activity and the reflection and construction of outside world by brain based on practice.It is the spiritual world.The inner structure of thought is constructed by Cognition,emotion and will and the interdependence relationship between the three elements which are inextricably interwoven with each other.These three elements cannot be separated,but also be independent of each other.In this way,it contributes to the richness of the thought world.The formation of thought is based on the concept and considering a certain logic to start thinking activities.It is a process and is an endless process which has been restarted since its completion.The extension of thought is rich,and it can be divided from different angles into different classification.This paper divides thought into static thought and dynamic thought,irrational thought and rational thought,new thought and old thought,individual thought and group thought,mainstream thought and non-mainstream,realistic thought and academic thought and other types.The thought of this study is the thought that people are thinking.It is fresh,dynamic,constructive,generated and vanished,and is closely related to life practice,not static.Dynamic thought and understanding have both overlap and differences.Generally speaking,cognition is part of thought,the rational part.Moreover,thought not only contains rational part,but also covers unconscious and irrational content.Thought have the following functions in the control of people's understanding of the world and the transformation of the world.The guide function is that thought has the ability and function to speculate on future according to reality and to generate nice ideas and plans for reality things,consequently to direct and guide human behavior.The regulation function is the ability of advanced reflection which is formed on the foundation of reflection function of thought,which runs through the whole process of people's thought formation and development,and plays the role of regulating and controlling people's thought and behavior.The function of motive power is the internal driving force triggered by the concept and the external environment during practice,which runs through the whole process of social life practice and the historical process of society development.It possesses the mechanism of forming people's inner and external motive force,the function of mobilizing individual physical and mental strength and integrating group will behavior.It is the psychological motivation and spiritual energy for people to move forward.Guidance function,regulation function,motivation function intertwined with each other in the practice activity,and generated the traction power,regulation power and driving force of thought on the behavior.The field of thought is full of different theory,doctrine,standpoint.It is not all the thoughts which dominate and control the activities of people,but those thoughts which go through the process of selection.Unconscious selection and conscious selection,random selection and regularity selection,irrational selection and rational selection and so on.These are all organically combine and form the complexity and dynamic process of people's selection of thought.The selection of thought is limited,is conditional subjective judgment,which could be influenced by the important factors of both internal and external factors.However,selection is not a simple combination of internal and external factors,but the result which is generated by the inherent selection mechanism and based on the combination.The inherent selection mechanism is composed of the automatic association mechanism and the logical logic reasoning mechanism which are formed by the automatic system and the reflection system of brain.It will produce the inherent intention of selection(implicit,explicit),and then trigger the selection by external stimulus.Generally,the selection of thought follows the principle of rationality,legitimacy and utilitarianism,and its process is full of thought's game.The foundation of thought is practice,is the result of brain's unique function based on the practice.As the physiological basis and necessary condition of the generation and selection of the thought,the brain has the ability to acquire and select the information from the outside world to construct thought,which not only make people the existence of the flesh,but also possess the spirit and the thought.The existence of culture is the main external conditions and basis of people's thought and behavior selection,and for those who lived inside the culture could be influenced,nurtured and educated by culture,and form certain ideas,customs,habits,lifestyles and behavior.Therefore,the selection of thought has a cultural identity or brand.Practice is the realistic basis for the creation and development of thought and is the standard of testing the truth of thought.It is the basic dimension of observing,thinking,thinking,analyzing and interpreting all phenomena.It is also the realistic source of people's thought and the reality of the development of thought and logic.It is also practice which make people's thoughts possesses the characteristics of the main transcendence.The tension power between thought and reality is a kind of state between the thought and the reality which compete,compare and contain with each other.They are interdependent in the unity of opposite,interdependent in mutual exclusion and mutual development in the interaction.It represents a kind of state of Marx doctrine about the development of things the law of contradiction.Individual and social construction of thought are filled with the tension power of reality.Thought should be based on reality but higher than reality.It should possess both transcendental of metaphysic,but also realistic of reality.The modest tension between thought and reality is the prerequisite to ensure transcendence of thought and guide the reality.The tension power between them mainly show as follows:(1)The tension between theory and practice,including the tension between universal theory and concrete practice,the dominant thought and the concrete implementation;(2)The tension between thought and social change,specifically it is the tension between thought game and the reality of social change including the tension between reality,including the tension among transcendence of thought,the lag and the reality.(3)The tension between what should be and the real situation,including the tension between ideal and reality,should be with the actual state.The tension of thought and reality is the normal state of life and society,it is a phenomenon that can never be eliminated.It constantly produces,resolves,and reappears,which pushes the self-development of the society.When the tension power is too strong or lack of tension,the phenomenon of assimilation appears.In this situation,thought could not play the role of transcendence.Only adhere to the thought route of seeking truth from facts,it could maintain the appropriate tension power.In this thesis,we try to emphasize the irrational content and dynamic characteristics of the thought by clarifying the relationship between thought and cognition.Based on the revelation and classification of the characteristics of thought selection,this paper analyzes the main factors that influence the selection of thought and explore the general principle of the selection.This paper pay attention to the basic research of thought's formation,the analysis about the direct influence of subculture on human thought,and the argument that the logic of thought should match with the practice.And the author also attach great importance and recognize the subjective content of human thought.Basing on reality,and seeking truth from facts is the foundation of breaking and re-establishing the tension power between thought and reality,and maintaining the appropriate distance from each other.It is also the premise that could exert the function of thought's transcendence.Lacking basic literature and systematic presentation,it brings great challenges to this research.For this thesis,the logical relationship and theoretic element still need to be further clarified and promoted.There is still lacking deeper and more detailed study.For example,the function of selection is also an important function of thought,due to the complexity of the selection function,the author make it as an independent chapter as function of thought.Moreover,the discussion about the selection of thought mainly from the individual perspective,but there is insufficient exploration about the selection of group thought and the social thought.Meanwhile,the relationship between thought and consciousness,thought and thinking is not explored in depth,which still needs to be complemented,extended and promoted in the future study and research.
