Mobile Phone Dependence is a problemtic behavior of too much mobile phone usage in our life and it bring negative consequences of life and study, also called MPD for short,it also known as Problematic Mobile Phone Use,etc. The Thirty-ninth China Statistical Report on Internet Development shows: From the rise of the Internet in China to December 2016,China had 710 million Internet users, the number of mobile Internet users in China reached 656 million. The mobile netizens accounted for 95.1% of the total netizen population,of Chinese Internet users,25.0% were students.Chinese Youth Internet Behavior Survery of 2015 found that compared to primary and secondary school students, college students online longest weekly, they spend an average of 31.7 hours per week online.College students have more free time to use mobile phones for social contacts, entertainment and information search, but their excessive use of mobile phone caused some bad effects on their study and life.Preliminary interview of the study found that lack of self-control and negative emotions increased are two major problems in college students who dependent on mobile phone. While training of inhibitory control and positive emotion can increase inhibitory control and positive emotions. Therefore, based on the exploration of the characteristics of MPD college students' inhibition control and emotional processing, this study designed different interventions for MPD college students to reduce their mobile phone dependence. This paper consisted of 1 pre studies and 4 formal studies. In Preliminary study,600 college students selected, they come from two universities in Jilin Province,in preliminary study,we screened out mobile phone dependency students, and interview with mobile phone dependency college students to found their main symptoms of mobile phone dependency.Study 1 investigated the general inhibitory control ability and inhibitory control ability of mobile phone related cues in mobile phone dependent college students via inhibitory control task.Study 2 analyzed the emotional processing features of mobile phone dependent college students, including emotion perception features, emotional priming features and approach/avoidance responses induced under stress.Study 3 explored the interaction between inhibitory control ability and emotion of mobile phone dependent college students.Study 4 explored the short-term and long-term effects of three interventions on mobile phone dependence college students based on three follow-up intervention studies. The results showed that:1.Preliminary study for screening of mobile phone dependent college students showed that the screening rate of mobile phone dependence was 12.59%.An interview study was conducted on those screened mobile phone dependent college students. The results revealed that the excessive use of mobile phone brought them some negative consequences, including the decreased inhibitory control ability and increased negative emotions.2.In study one that carried out an investigation on the inhibitory control ability of mobile phone dependent college students, the subjects were asked to complete digital Stroop task under no interference, mobile phone vibration ringing interference and pure tone interference conditions, respectively. The results demonstrated that the inhibitory control ability of mobile phone dependent students was worse in mobile phone vibration ringing interference condition than in no interference or pure tone interference condition.Compared with the non dependent group, mobile phone dependent students had a stronger sense of desire for mobile phones after the completion of inhibition control task. The inhibition control showed a negative correlation with mobile phone craving.3.Study two analyzed the emotional processing characteristics of mobile phone dependent college students.A series of the studies of emotional processing showed an faster awareness of sad emotional faces in mobile phone-dependent students compared with those in non dependent group. It meant that after negative emotion priming, mobile phone dependent college students would be more likely to judge the following neutral stimulus as negative emotions when compared with those in non dependent group. After stress induction the students in mobile phone dependent group preferred more to avoid the stress and had stronger desires for mobile phones.4.In study three the screening rate of mobile phone dependence was 11.57%.Study three found the interaction between inhibitory control and emotional processing in the mobile phone dependent group. That was, when inhibitory control resource depletion increased, the neutral stimulus would be judged to be more negative in mobile phone dependent college students.Once negative emotions priming started, the inhibitory control ability decreased in mobile phone dependent college students, which may be the reason why mobile phone dependent behavior is maintained.5.Study four carried out three interventions on mobile phone dependent college students, including inhibition control ability training, emotional processing training and the third one that contains both. The results showed that when the inhibitory control ability and emotional processing were trained simultaneously, the improvements of mobile phone dependency and time addicted to mobile phone were both more significant. In the four studies,we explored the inhibitory control ability and emotional processing characteristics of mobile phone dependent college students, analyzed interaction between inhibitory control and emotion, and verified the proposed mobile phone dependent behavior maintenance model. The study also carried out intervention study on mobile phone dependent college students.A comprehensive training program including inhibitory control train and positive emotions guidance on mobile phone dependent students worked best through short-term and long-term effect evaluation.Implications of these researches demonstrated that the reasons for the formation and maintenance of cell phone dependency are diverse and there are complex interactions among these causes.Through identification and analysis of the interactions among these factors we can design better intervention programs to improve the behavior of mobile phone dependence.
