The Relationship Among Depression,loneliness And Mobile Phone Dependence In College Students:the Mediating Role Of Mobile Phone Usage Types

As the arrival of Information Times comes rapidly,mobile phone has become an indispensable communication tool in people's daily life.However,the problematic use of mobile phones has also greatly affected people's working and living.Mobile phone dependence,based on physical and psychological discomfort,is broadly viewed as a subset of addictional behavior which may caused many negative consequences in the daily life of mobile phone use behavior.Previous studies have shown that there is a correlation between mobile phone dependence and psychopathic structure.Based on previous studies,this study attempts to explore mobile phone dependence's association with depression and loneliness,and then find out the mobile phone usage types' role among them.The 41 st China Statistical Report on Internet Development in 2018 showed that students are the biggest group of Internet user in China,accounting for 25.4%?So we chose 405 college students as our participants.Based on uses and gratifications theory,this study comprised a questionnaire.The questionnaire assessd the Mobile Phone Addiction Tendency Scale for College Students(withdrawal symptoms,salience,social comfort and mood changes),center for epidemiological survey depression scale,UCLA loneliness Scale and Mobile Phone Usage types scale(process use,social use).This paper mainly used SPSS sofeware to process date for statistical analysis,and the Amos software to formulated the Structural Equation Modeling.The results of mobile phone dependence with its impact factors study showed that college students' depression positively affects the degree of mobile phone dependence,the process use and the combination of the process and social use are mediating between them.College students tends to have more process use when they have a high intensity of depression and then their mobile phone dependence increasing.College students will have more social use when they have more process use,then mobile phone dependence increasing.We also found that the intensity of loneliness positively affects college students' mobile phone dependence,the social use mediates loneliness and mobile phone dependence.Thus we can draw a conclusion that there is a significant correlation between college students' depression,loneliness and mobile phone dependence,mobile phone usage types are mediators between depression,longliness and mobile phone dependence.
