The Research Of The Theories Of Function And Origin Of Literature Before Tang Dynasty

"The concept of literature function" refers to the general consciousness of literature in function and general cognitive capability at that time.It can be represented in literary creation and communication practice implicitly,when the specific language of the narrative appears,it becomes to the theory of literature function." The theory of the origin of literature concept" refers to the general consciousness of literary consciousness,change,cognitive differences and other issues when they happen,it is the origin of philosophy concept.When people discourse upon literature,the rheological and other problems in form of language or written words,the literature origin theory is born.This paper argues that the function of literature consciousness in the pre Qin period was enriched in the literary practice.In the Shang and Zhou Dynasties it had experienced three stages of evolution,and ultimately in the Spring and Autumn periods it was established by "Shi yan zhi" as the representative of the literature function theory.But the concept of literature origin was born relatively late,it was slowly accompanied by the evolution of "Shi yan zhi" poetry ideas,and by people’s consider of the issue of noumenon.In the Warring States period,it generated a "Dao" theory as the literary ontology of Pan ontology,but until the influence of metaphysics emotion in wei-jin period," Shi yuan qing" theory,the true literary ontology and the theory of origin began to be fully established.The fundamental differences between " Shi yan zhi" and " Shi yuan qing" are also the differences between the function of theory and the origin of theory.Therefore,this paper focused on the theories of function and origin of literature before Tang Dynasty.It discussed this subject according to the following three clues: First,the presence of literary function concept and its evolution before Wei and Jin Dynasties;Second,the development of the theory of the function of literature,and how it developed into the theory of the origin of literature;Last,the presence of literary origin concept and its evolution before Tang Dynasties.The main body of this paper reviewed the development process of Qin and Han Dynasties’ literary concept and function,then it also reviewed the development process of the pre Qin to Wei and Jin Dynasties’ literature origin concept and the theory of origin,then it arranged the background,the bud,evolution processes and some related theories,such as the theory of creation value,the theory of creating,the theory of ontology.And through the analysis and comparison of the two parallels,it established the main ideas,this paper discussed: in the pre Qin Dynasty and Han Dynasty to the Southern and Northern Dynasties,the main clue of the development of literary concept or theory,is the mature of literary function concept and the theory of the function of literature,and the origin of the evolution process ultimately became the formation of literature.It is associated with the "Shi yan zhi" in Qin poetics as the representative of the first performance of the function theory,gradually developed into a complex poetics which contained the origin development process theory,then it resulted in "Shi yuan qing",which formed a classical theory that Yan zhi and Yuan qing theories are a pair of concept which complement each other.This paper was divided into four chapters,except the last chapter,in addition to introduction,there were three main chapters and two parts of appendices and references.The first chapter mainly discussed the literary development process in function concept and function of the pre Qin period.The development of the function of literature consciousness went through a long process,in the germination stage showed out three typical characteristics: the first is that there are a lot of people practice in literature function;the second is the understanding of the literary ontology and emphasizing function of literature are diversified;the third is diversifications of literature appeared.After a germination period,the function of literature from the concept of single stage has entered to a period of rapid development.But the literature function and purpose are closely related.Both of literature creation and application in pre Qin experienced three stages: religious,political and individual emotion.Literature function theory is a mature form of literary function concept.The same with the function of consciousness,the function theory can be divided into three periods: theory of religion,political theory and emotion theory,but the occurrence and development of the occurrence and development of functionalism and lagged dropped behind the consciousness,its appearances need many prerequisites.Work consciousness is the necessary condition of literature function theory.The independence of creators,the differentiation of poetry(literature)and music,dance,or the complication of literary function is also an important reason for the theory of the function of literature.The second chapter mainly observed and studied on " Shi yan zhi" as an individual case,it is primarily a function of literature discussion obviously.Through the analysis of its occurrence,development,change and process details,and the overall contrast with "Shi yuan qing",it showed the process in literature function theory on the production,the evolution and how to give birth to the specific process ontology eventually.Finally,this paper tried from two angles of macroscopic and microscopic,which used a method of social and historical analysis,frequency statistics,item decomposition etc.to analyze the reasons.This chapter emphasized that "Shi yan zhi" is a diachronic,complex,constantly changing poetry(literature)theory,it has a different era and forms of expression in different special connotation;"Shi yan zhi",which is a way of expression,but for various reasons it is later expressed as a main form of this theory."Shi yuan qing" is not the opposite of "Shi yan zhi",therefore it can be regarded as a special form which polarise into the process of evolution and differentiation in “Shi yuan qing”,this is more appropriate.The third chapter focused on the literature noumenon concept and combing with "Shi yuan qing" as the representative of the literature ontology connection function theory development.There are two important clues: the first is to change the function of the concept of ontology concept;the second is to change the "Zhi" ontology concept into "Qing" ontology concept.In the pre Qin poetry theory,both of the philosophical ontology of literary concept and the concept of ontology were the origin of embryonic origin theory,they were relatively mature in Chuang-tzu and Xunzi’s works,but the literary ontology was a lack of clarity of expression.In the Han Dynasty,the function theory and the theory of origin were still dominant,and ontology was more inclined to "Tao-Zhi" Ontology.Until the Wei and Jin Dynasties,in the premise of the development of metaphysics ontology,ontology of literature had promoted,but also further enriched and developed the theory of origin.The theory could be summarized as follow: the Dao is the noumenon of literature,Dao changed into Qing,and Qing is the way for the further of the foundation and motivation.This theory is "Dao-Qing" ultimate source theory.The fourth section of this chapter based on the station on leading angle at the origin and made a thorough inquiry about the production of the necessity of emotion ontology again.The appendix part was the case analysis of materials,which was an important supplement for the three chapters’ analysis.It selected sixteen classics from the pre Qin to Wei Jin Northern and Southern Dynasties literature on period,focused on the analysis of the theory and the theory of origin and function related literary ideas,including: Shangshu,Book of Songs,the Analects of Confucius,Confucius’ s Poetics,Mo-tse,Chuang-tzu,Xun zi 、 Mao Shi Da sequence,Sima Qian’s "Taishigong Zixu" and "The Letter For REN An",Wang Chong "Lunheng chaoqi",Wang Yi " Chuci zhangju Xu",Cao Pi "Dian Lun Lun Wen",Lu Ji " Wen Fu",Liu Xie "Wen Xin Diao Long",Zhong Rong "Shi Pin Xu".In addition to the analysis of the literature poetry sequence which contained the concept and function of literature origin,this part also included the related literature ideology,such as literary criticism,sense of worth,creation theory and so on.Through all the analyses,we can comprehend the two aspects of the existence and evolution of the most important aspects of the previous literary theory,and understand the interaction between the two sides,as well as to provide help for the interpretation of the works and the theoretical study of the times.
