The Research On The Relationship Between The Theory Of Evolution And Chinese Literature History

The research of the history of Chinese literature has passed one hundred years,from Lin Chuanjia’s initial literary history that took 100 days, to the mature writing mood of recent days, all these progress has taken generations’ efforts.Since the theory of evolution was introduced into history of literature by Hu Shi and the others,the theoretical thinking of evolution had never changed, no matter how the direction or way of the evolution changed. The most significant and most profound influence of evolution theory to literary history is the construction of Grand narrative model on how to write history. This model is based on a concept as the guidance, combing the literature into a coherent story which starting from the source toward the concept. Due to its pre-determined outcome in the development of the literature, its objective color is too thick, it usually writes the history of literature as the deduction of a preconceived notion, that seriously affects the history of literature to explore the truth. As a product of evolutionary view of history, Grand narrative has hindered the development of Chinese literature history. How to break this framework has become the current thing we need to do.The main objective of this article is to investigate the development of Chinese literary history from the source and the establishment and evolution of the theory of evolution., study the way that grand narrative mode formed and how it control the writing of literary history, in the end, I will try to find the way to solve this problem. At first the article will trace the source of the history of Chinese literature, it mostly is the Japanese idea of Chinese writing literary history and evolution theory. The second section I will agrue how Chinese literary history developed under the influence of the two major sources, I will also include the completion of the writing stereotypes. In the last section I will inspect the Sinologist Stephen Owen’s history of literature research,try to explore the solutions that can reduce the inherent disadvantages of the writing mode.
