The style theory about Chinese classical literature involves such stages as occurrence, development and accomplishment. This thesis approaches the forming of the style theory about Chinese classical literature and attempts to excavate its origin.Firstly, the style theory about Chinese classical literature has the Xian-Qin Dynasty as its source. The theory of "Literature expresses the emotion" laid a foundation for the development of the style theory into lyricism, while the function of poem and music promoted the orientation of the development. In the Xian-Qin Dynasty, Ji-Zha, Meng-Zi and Xun-Zi made initiative contributions to the formation of the style theory about Chinese classical literature.Secondly, East and West Han Dynasties were pregnant with the style theory about Chinese classical literature. Sima-Qian firstly created the mode to study writers and works, which had significant impact on the formation of the style theory about Chinese classical literature. In the East Han Dynasty, Wang-Chong contributed useful reference to the researching into the forming of writer's individuality from its source, and inquiring the forming and diversity of art's style from subjective factor.Thirdly, Wei-Jin Dynasty put the style theory about Chinese classical literature into shape. In this period, Cao-Pi's "Dian Lun Lun Wen" wasknown as an original work of the style theory about Chinese classical literature and put the tendency of its embryo into shape; Lu-Ji's "Wen Fu" inherited and developed Cao-Pi's style theory, demonstrated the whole process of the lyric literature's style forming, expanded the study's scope of the style theory by introducing the "Wu Gan" theory into it, and thus made valuable contribution to the style theory about Chinese classical literature.Fourthly, Qi and Liang Dynasty made great achievement in the style theory about Chinese classical literature. In this period, a great number of subjective factors promoted the mature of the theory. However, Liu-Xie, going through Song, Qi and Liang Dynasty, was a comprehensive expression of the style theory about Chinese classical literature, who set up a complete style system of lyric literature in his "Wen Xin Diao Long", and at last, created the style theory about Chinese classical literature.In short, the style theory about Chinese classical literature has developed into relatively complete literature theory from Xian-Qin to Qi and Liang Dynasty and had a far-reaching influence on the development of literature theory and literary works in later ages.
