Regional School is a sample in researching relations between regional environment and academic culture,but academic circles pay most attention to Jingzhou School,Shandong School,Huxiang School,Tongcheng School,Yangzhou School,Bagui School and so on.The other schools still haven't been given due attention,like the Ruian School in Qing Dynasty.Ruian School was founded in the late period of Emperor Qianlong,with Sun Xidan,Fang Chenggui,Sun Yiyan,Huang Tifang,Sun Yirang,Huang Shaoji,Chen Fuchen,Song Shu,Chen Huai,etc.as its representatives.Ruian School's formation,development,peak and disappearance reappeared the Eastern Zhejiang academic development overview.They did widely research in the Study of the Classics,Historiography,The philosophers,Paleography,Literature and so on.As the forerunner of Ruian School ethos,Sun Xidan adopt on both the Han and Song Doctrines.Fang Chenggui founded the Ruian textology and then Sun Yirang developed it.Chen Fuchen focused on historical textual research and then Chen Huaizhi brought history log into this research.The Ruian School formed strong regional characteristics in the joint efforts of those representative scholars.No matter in the breadth and density of research production,or in the credibility and depth of research results,Ruian School has outstanding significance and research value in China.Zhejiang is cultural developed areas in history.The Ruian scholars(from Fang Chenggui to Chen Huai)focused on Chinese linguistics and philology,Confucian classics,literature and historiography,with strong regional characteristics in the joint efforts of those representative scholars.With the social identity filled with thoughts of Heirloom,Nobles and Apprenticeship,the process of the regional academic community---Ruian School's formation,development,peak and disappearance reappeared the Eastern Zhejiang academic development overview,which made it an important and non-negligible school in Qing Dynasty academic history.From the perspective of Textual Criticism,research on Ruian School is carried out systematically.Firstly,the paper gives an overall presentation of Ruian School's formation process and academic achievement from its history,academic origin,specific causes,structural features,academic thought,major achievements and so on.Secondly,it analyzes and concludes the method and characteristics of textual research of Ruian School.Thirdly,it elaborates achievements and shortcomings of Ruian School based on linguistics and philology,Confucian classics,literature and historiography.Moreover,special presentation is carried out on textual research methods,regulations and terms of Sun Yirang,who assembled the characteristics of Ruian School,thus to complement worthies' research.Finally,it summarizes the impact of Ruian School on academic circles of late Qing Dynasty and Textology studies of China.
