Research On Mipam’s Buddist Thought System

Since Buddhism was introduced into Tibet in eighth century,Buddhist thought had penetrated into every aspect of the Tibetan culture.So the Tibetan nation has become a nation with Buddhist beliefs as its cultural characteristics.In the context of this historical and cultural background,the author takes the activities and thought of Mipam in the Nyingma as an example,trying to understand the formation and influence of the Tibetan Buddhism to the Tibetans’ material and spiritual life.Mipam as one of the modern Nyingma’s monks,his thought has many characteristics of the Nyingma.There is a strong evidence in the works that the debates of Buddhist doctrine between the Tibetan Buddhist monks and other monks.Therefore,the research of Mipam’sthought has great help to systematically comb the modern development trajectory of the Nyingma doctrine and the theory characteristics of the Nyingma In the internal Tibetan Buddhism,the study about Mipam’s thought are often based on the doctrine history.Domestic academic circles focus on the translation of Mipam’s works.Foreign academic circles first paid special attention to his important role in the religious harmony movement in nineteenth century launched in Kang district.In these studies,the study of doctrinal history from a religious perspective does not meet the requirements of academic norms.The current research lacks depth.It only concerns part of his Buddhist views,but fails to show his system of ideas in full.This paper adopts the research methods of ethnology,history and philosophy.In this paper his life experience,Dharma lineage and Buddhism philosophy have been studied.The paper focuses on the content and inheritance of the whole Buddhist doctrine theory,trying to supplement the existing research results in academic circles.From the historical facts,the pedigree study of Mipam’s paternal family and maternal family are carried out.It makes a comprehensive review of his life and points out that his religion choice is deeply influnced by his family.The atmosphere of buddhist theory is explained in two parts: the first part combs through the history of Buddhist tradition,from the perspective of buddhist history.The source and development of the inheritance of Nyingma are outlined.His position in the Nyingsma lineage is illustrated.Secondly,it is analyzed from the perspective of doctrine development.His unique insights in many buddhist theories.The article gives special attention to the text of the dispute between him and other monks of Tibetan Buddhism.From the life history and the thought history,this article completed the textual research on Mipam’s family history and his life experience,also completed the systematic arrangement of his buddhist thought.Then the article explains the important influence of his buddhist thought in the history of the development of Nyingma doctrineand and his the important role in the Rimed Movement.
