Roger Ascham once said,"An example is better than twenty teachings in the book." The function of model is mainly reflected on the following two aspects:1.The function of promoting the individual development of social members,which mainly represented as the individual orientation function,individual motivation function and individual normalization function.2.The function of promoting the social development,from the perspective of macroscopic social structure,which could be divided into social political function,social cultural function and social economic function.Furthermore,in the present process of cultivating and practicing core socialist values,models are the important carrier of carrying,disseminating and leading people to practice the core socialist values,which plays the significant leading role.Whether the above mentioned basic functions could be realized,whether the practical role of the model could be played,have close relation with whether the model get the approval of the educational objects.Therefore,systematic study of the theory and practice,the history and the reality,the problems and the strategy of model identification has essential theoretical and realistic significance.Since ancient times,model education has been considered as the important method of moral education.In particular,in each period of the growth and development of Chinese Communist Party,great importance has been attached to using the model's positive power to initiating the value of the times,leading the social development,therefore springing up groups of models leading the mainstream value of the age.Being consistent with the development of the party,the model have gone through the changing course of "disregarding one's own safety" during the revolutionary war years,"Public business comes before private affairs" in the early years of New China,the biased "political supremacy" in the Cultural Revolution period,"the enterprising spirit "after the reform and opening-up,the "diversified human nature" in the new period.In the meantime,in the process of the model education by the Chinese Communist Party,useful successful experience has been accumulated,which reflects the pattern that historical models could be widely acknowledged by the people,for example,on the spiritual construction of model,the unification between the features of the times and the ethnic features;on the value orientation of model,the unification between the party principle and the people's principle;on the function exertion of model,the unification between individualistic education function and the social political function.All these experience and laws is worth learning for today.Pulling the perspective from the history to the reality,compared with the past brilliance of the model education,the present model education is no longer popular as before,instead it is confronted with the embarrassing plight of being in disfavor in reality.This kind of plight could be boiled down to the predicament of the "model identification".Philosophy,Psychology,sociology and other disciplines researched the identification problem from different perspectives,and the model identification is indeed a kind of psychological identification,which includes the psychological elements like Cognition,emotion,will,behavior,and could not be separated from the understanding and comprehension of the model from the cognitive dimension,the recognition and appreciation of the model from the emotional dimension,the learning and practice of the model from the behavioral dimension.It is the unification of model cognition,model recognition and model learning.From the above three dimensions,through the methods like questionnaire inquiry,individual interview and group interview,the investigation shows that there exist the following problems in model identification:Although the overall cognitive degree of model is high,there is the problem of imbalance among different groups,the recognition of the model is not comprehensive and in-depth,the participation of the new media in the model recognition is not enough.The overall recognition of model being low,there exist the imbalance among different models and groups,not enough credibility of the model,lack of in-depth recognition.While models could not perfectly adapt to the need of the learner,the motive of model learning become complex,showing the utilitarian tendency,and the model learning "formalized" and "superficialized".These problems not only affect the effectiveness of model education,but also further affect the role played by the model guiding the core socialist values.From the superficial phenomenon of the problem to the inner mechanism,this dissertation found the following problems.The falling of the model recognition degree is not only closely bound up with the deficiency in the education model for a long time,including the "officialization" of model generation---too much reliance on the administrative system,lack of public involvement;"Divinization" of the model dissemination---excessive pursuit on macro-perfection,lack of micro-humanity;the learning of model "formalization"---too much emphasize on formal liveliness,lack of understanding and acceptance.In the meanwhile,it is also closely linked with the dramatic changes of the social environment and people's spiritual world since the reform and opening-up,including the changes in social environment like the social transformation from the traditional to the modernized,the institutional transition from Plan to Market,the globalization process from close to opening-up,and the thus initiated changes like the social member's value changing from unitary to diversified,the spiritual needs from sublime to secular,the subject consciousness changing form sleeping to awakened.Basically,it is the sharp contradiction between internal and external factors causes the problem of model identification,which manifested as the following:the contradiction between the diversified social environment and the unified model education;the contradiction between the realistic needs of social members and the idealistic demands of model education;the contradiction between the subjective consciousness of the social members and the administrative means of model education.For the above mentioned existing problems and its restricting factors in model identification,the last chapter of the thesis mainly discusses the promotion countermeasures of model identification from the three levels of changing ideological understanding,innovating model educational mechanism,and improving the external environment of model education.It is pointed out that in order to improve model identification,correct understanding of model education should be made,which includes the escaping of the thoughts of "outdated model" and "useless model" the pushing forward of model education and the escaping the thoughts of "model's having boundless power" and rationally and pragmatically carrying forward model education.In the meanwhile,the predicament of model identification comes from the sharp contradiction between the deficiency of model education and the change in social environment.Therefore,in order to improve model identification,the solve of the contradiction between them should be the starting point.Based on model education,the generation,dissemination and learning mechanism of model should be optimized,while with the objective of forming the positive interaction between model and core socialist values,the external moral atmosphere and institutional mechanism of model education should also be optimized through the flexible leading method like dissemination,education,culture edification and practice cultivation and the non-flexible guarantee method like policy support,institutional standard and legal restraint.
