On Modern University Students' Acceptance Of The System Of Theories Of Socialism With Chinese Characteristics

The system of theories of socialism with Chinese characteristics is an important part of the popularization of Marxism and the core of theoretical and political education in universities. University students belong to an important target group of the popularization of Marxism. To find out to what extent modern university students accept the system of theories of socialism with Chinese characteristics, stimulate their motivation for learning the system and encourage them to learn, believe in and apply the system is an issue that universities must handle well so as to know the status quo of Marxism's guiding role in ideology in universities and enhance university students'theoretical and political standards. This paper takes the Marxism Principle and the theory of theoretical and political education as the guidance and borrows the acceptance theory of theoretical and political education to study modern university students' acceptance of the system of theories of socialism with Chinese characteristics. By this paper, the author hopes to enrich the theoretical achievements in universities'education in the system of theories of socialism with Chinese characteristics and develop the acceptance theory of theoretical and political education. In addition, the author hopes to offer practical guidance in enhancing universities' effectiveness of education in the system of theories and provide basis for making related policies.The author carries out researches on related literature, initiates social surveys, conducts statistical analysis, combines qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis and does interdisciplinary researches. In this paper, the author defines the "acceptance of the system of theories of socialism with Chinese characteristics"; analyzes the acceptance system's components, structure and mechanism; tries to set evaluation criteria based on large-sample surveys and analysis of undergraduates in nine universities in different places; analyzes the major advantages and obstacles for university students' acceptance of the system of theories and offers suggestions for making the education of the system more effective.The author believes that while modern university students' acceptance of the system of theories is comprehensive and systematic, it also demonstrates some unstable features, such as the coexistence of a high degree of overall acceptance and unbalanced acceptance on different levels; the coexistence of idealism and pragmatism. From the perspective of acceptance, universities have well-educated acceptance subjects, high-level education subjects, rich acceptance medium and excellent education environment. These are the primary reasons for university students'high acceptance level of system of theories. At the same time, in terms of acceptance subjects, education subjects, acceptance objects, acceptance medium and acceptance environment, certain problems that undermine the acceptance of system of theories still exist. To develop tailored education according to university students'attitude towards the system of theories of socialism with Chinese characteristics is the key to making the education of the system more effective. To be specific, students' need for learning theories and their reflections on values should be the starting point of the education. On the one hand, we should satisfy students'need for acquiring knowledge; on the other hand, we should scientifically guide them in fostering social values and accepting theories correctly. Meanwhile, we should help university students improve their cognitive structure to raise their acceptance levels, pay attention to their emotional experience to arouse their interest in learning, teach with creative methods to stimulate their initiative in learning and make theoretical education more acceptable to let university students better accept the system of theories of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
