One of the goal of Basic Education Curriculum Reform in China is to practice induviaulized learning by taking advantage of technology.Besides,the current research interest of Learning Sciences lies in the development and application of technology-enhanced learning environment(TELE).Therefore,studies on students' learning progression in TELE will not only help us gain a better understanding of the nature of learning,but also enlighten us on solving the practice problem of improving teaching in TELE.Based on the knowledge integration(KI)framework,this dissertation described three studies that contributedto understand the progression of students' learning science ideas in TELE.Specially,this dissertation addressed the following three questions:(1)Taking WISE as an example,what's the difference between TELE and typical classroom environment in case of students' learning on photosynthesis?(2)Taking WISE as an example,what's the relationship between students'learning behavior on TELE and their performance?(3)What is the progression of students understanding the mechanisms of photosynthesis?This dissertation uses a mixed-methods approach utilizing quantitative tests and qualitative in-depth interviews to follow students' learning progression.The three studies described in this dissertation are conducted in three schools in S city.Sub-study employes a quasi-experimental design to investigate the impact of WISE photosynthesis unit compared to typical instruction using pre-,post-and delayed posttest assessments.Based on findings of sub-study ?,sub-study ? improves and localized the WISE unit,then exploresthe relationship between students' learning behavior on WISE and their performance.Sub-study ? utilizes interview and students log data on WISE to understand the changing progress on students' learning photosynthesis.First,the results show WISE has a long positive effect on students' concepts learning.Second,the WISE unit promotes students individualized process of knowledge integration.Third,emerged from designed-based research,KI framework bridges the gap between theory and scientific learning practice by taking advantage of TELE.Based on these conclutions,it is implied that teachers should take advantage of technology to follow students' learning progression and offer them individualized guidance in TELE in order to maximizing TELE's impact on learning.In addition,it also suggests that researchers should explore the long term impact of TELE and how to promote teachers to change their roles and achieve their professional progression in TELE.
