Information consumption is a human economic activity with long history. With the rapid development of current national informatization, when new information technology widely and deeply applies, information consumption has shown new contents and forms, and has shown unprecedented acceleration to development of economy and society. Based on new current information environment, we give a recognition of information consumption, reveal new contents and characters of information consumption, redefine and restudy basic elements of information consumption activity. Based on this, we build and select index systems and methods which adapt to current information consumption development, and take an empirical analysis of measurement to information consumption level in China during 2002-2013 and level in all regions over China in 2013; finally, we make an analysis of impetuses and approaches to which information consumption promotes economic increase, sampling information consumption in our country during 2002-2013, then make a econometric analysis to which information consumption promotes GDP increase during 2002-2013, finally make relevant conclusion.This paper is divided into six chapters.(1) Introduction, which discusses the research background and significance in this paper, and status of information consumption at home and abroad, and research methods and technical routes, and finally the difficult points and innovation points.(2) To come up with the conception, connotation and character of information consumption. Based on comprehensive review of its relevant conception, we propose limitation of its current conception, and redefine information consumption, combining present information environment, which includes redefinition of its every element. Based on this, we reveal its connotation and evolution course and characters.(3) Theoretical analysis of information consumption, mainly studies at six relevant aspect:information consumption subject, object, demand, supply, behavior and power. In the aspect of information consumption subject, we study at personal information consumption subject, and enterprise information consumption subject, and national information consumption subject in China; on the side of information consumption object, we study and analyze information content consumption, information access consumption and information platform consumption; in the aspect of information consumption demand, we mainly study the category of information consumption demand, patterns that satisfy information need, demand functions and price elasticity; in the aspect of information consumption supply, we mainly analyze demand model and function, factors and price elasticity that affect information, then the phenomenon that effective information supplies too little and void information supplies excessively; in the aspect of information consumption behavior, we mainly analyze the evolution of information consumption behavior model, which includes traditional times AIDMA model, internet times AISAS model, concludes the problems that exist in AISAS, combining current information consumption development, finally raises E-ISIRMAS consumption behavior model based on The mobile internet times; in the aspect of information consumption power, we mainly analyze the notions and connotations, functions and curves of information consumption power, and the relation between power and digital divide, then come up with contents and form of digital divide in four generations, and finally concludes that information consumption divide is the main factor that causes current digital divide in China.(4) To talk about information consumption level measurement. We mainly analyze status and existing problems about current level measurement. Based on this, we then raise the necessity of improving measurement index system and method, and then improving principles and ideas. Based on this, we then determine level measurements, which include measurement frame, indicator building, methods selecting. Based on having determined level measurement, then we take a positive analysis to information consumption level in China. Then we mainly take positive analysis both horizontally and vertically. Horizontally analysis is mainly analysis about information consumption level in cities over China and in the east, northeast, central, west regions in 2013. Vertical analysis is analysis about the overall level of China's information consumption in 2002-2013 and secondary index of information consumption. Finally, we make relevant conclusion.(5) To discuss impact analysis that information consumption promotes economic increase, which includes dynamic factor analysis of economic increase. Dynamic factor analysis that information consumption promote economic increase, mainly covers economic increase promoted by stimulating consumption, optimizing industrial structure, and expanding employment. Then we analyze seven approaches to which information consumption promotes economic increase. Based on this, combining sample data of national information consumption level in 2002-2013 in chapter 4, we take an econometric analysis to impact of information consumption accelerating GDP increase from three aspects:stimulating domestic demands; promoting the development of information industry; expanding the employment, finally make conclusion.(6) Summary and prospect, which includes full text summary, the shortage of research and research prospect.
