Spatial Spillover Effects Of Regional Economic Growth In China And Asean Countries

After the American financial crisis in 2008,The world economy has stuck on a kind of plateau of slow growth,international trade and international economic relations get on the rollback road.As the second largest economy in the world,China has been committed to the development of free trade,and made a great contribution to the recovery of the world economy after the crisis.In 2013,Premier Li Keqiang put forward an initiative to build an upgraded version of the China ASEAN Free Trade Area,its main objective is to strengthen the level of economic integration between China and ASEAN countries.In the same year,President Xi Jinping also proposed the construction of "Silk Road Economic Belt" and "twenty-first Century Maritime Silk Road",pointing out the key direction of China's opening to the outside world in the future.Whether the build of upgraded version of the China ASEAN Free Trade Area,or the construction of "twenty-first Century Maritime Silk Road",ASEAN countries have undoubtedly become the key areas for China's opening up to the outside world.The study of the spatial correlation and spillover effects of economic growth between China and ASEAN countries has important theoretical and practical reference value for China to build a comprehensive economic and cooperative partnership between China and ASEAN.In this study,the general path and spillover mechanism of regional economic growth spillovers are discussed by combing the general theory of regional economic growth spillovers.Combining the characteristics of transnational spillovers of economic growth,from the aspects of transnational commodity trade,transnational capital flow,transnational labor flow and transnational technology flow,the general theory frame of transnational spillover of economic growth is constructed.Then taking China and ASEAN countries as the object of empirical analysis,the spatial correlation of economic growth between China and ASEAN countries is analyzed,and the spillover effects and the influence of each spillover channel on the spillover effect of China and ASEAN countries are calculated.Finally,we analysis the growth effect of spillover effects of economic growth.It puts forward some countermeasures to promote the spillover effect of economic growth between China and ASEAN countries.Around the theme of the study,though this paper is made up of 6 parts,but it could be divided into five parts:pedestal,a summary of relevant theories,construction of theoretical model,model empirical application,countermeasures and conclusions.The pedestal part including chapter one which is the introduction,it mainly introduces the research background,theoretical value and practical significance,basic framework,main contents and research method of this paper.The part of summary of relevant theories including chapter two.First,we defined the concepts of spillovers,technology and knowledge spillovers and FDI spillovers,analysis the relationship between spillover and geographical spatial distance and economic agglomeration,summarizing the previous studies on economic growth,spillovers and regional relations between China and ASEAN countries.It is considered that spillover is a kind of externality,and spillover effects can only occur in an open economic system.The spatial distance has a certain impediment to the spillover effect.There is a two-way relationship between spillovers and economic agglomeration.The spillover of economic growth can effectively promote the development of regional economy.China and ASEAN countries have formed strong ties both in terms of geographical relations,industrial relations and trade development.The third chapter is theoretical analysis.This chapter construct the basic frame of transnational spillover of economic growth.Transnational spillover of economic growth is characterized by its wide spread range,difficulty to flow and narrow flow approach.The main channels of transnational spillover of economic growth include international trade,transnational capital flow,transnational labor flow and international technology flow.Model of Mundell-Fleming,Input-output analysis and spatial econometric analysis are the main method to analysis transnational spillover of economic growth?The part of model empirical application consists from chapter four to chapter five.Chapter four analysis the present situation of economic growth,the status of trade development and the developing trend of spatial association network in China and ASEAN countries,calculate the spillover effects of economic growth and the influence of each spillover channel on the spillover effect in China and major ASEAN countries.China is regarded as the absolute core of the China-ASEAN trade network,and there is a strong trade complementarity between China and ASEAN countries and within ASEAN countries.China and ASEAN countries have formed a complex economic growth spillover network that allows countries to directly or indirectly get the spillover effects created by other countries economic growth.There is a significant spillover effect on economic growth between China and ASEAN countries.Transnational capital flow is the main factor affecting the economic growth spillover effect of China and ASEAN countries.The flow of technological factors can also effectively promote the growth of the national economy.International trade has no significant influence on the transnational spillover of economic growth.The flow of labor factor has a negative impact on transnational spillover of economic growth.The fifth chapter is the analysis of the spillover effect of economic growth.Under the influence of the spillover effect,the economic growth between China and ASEAN countries has both a convergence and ? convergence.The spillover effect of economic growth can effectively narrow the gap between countries,and promote economic convergence.The part of countermeasures are mainly about how to improve the spillover effects of economic growth in China and ASEAN countries.In the last chapter,the author summarizes the main conclusions and innovations of the paper,and illustrate the directions for further research.
