Cinnamomum camphora is a kind of very important softwood material in Chinese traditional furniture system,which generally,the waxing craft is adopted on its surface.However,the waxing process is very complex,because there are great parameters difference between the softwood and the hardwood.Moreover,there are many disadvantages of waxing furniture,such as light fugitive,discoloration easily,sticky and poor moistureproof and waterproof.Therefore,result in the development limitation of waxing furniture for a long time.To solve the above problems and improve the surface quality of waxed cinnamomum camphora,this study has carried out a series of researches on the cinnamomum camphora waxing parameters and surface property optimization based on the production techniques currently used by traditional furniture manufacturers.Around cinnamomum camphora,this paper discusses how the optimization of the waxing process parameters,and type,content and preparation method of the nano-modified material will affect the waxed cinnamomum camphora surface in terms of UV-light aging resistance,glossiness,waterproof property,heat resistance and antibacterial property.Scanning electron microscope(SEM),Thermogravimetric analysis(TG)and Fourier transform infrared Spectrum(FTIR)are used to characterize the performance of the modified beeswax material.A waxed cinnamomum camphora property optimization evaluation model is established using the analytic hierarchy process,to figure out,through quantitative and qualitative evaluation,a composition that optimizes the properties of the nano-modified waxing material.Also,this paper tests the feasibility of using the nano-modified wax material to optimize the surface properties.Main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The technical parameters of cinnamomum camphora surface waxing process were optimized.The results showed that:in the dry grinding,water mill time fixed circumstances,dry abrasive paper model 240#,waterproof abrasive paper model 800#,cloth waxing quantity2g/cm2,waxing time is 60s/cm.(2)The surface performance of cinnamomum camphora waxing by single nanomaterial was analyzed,respectively.The application of nano nanomaterials can effectively enhanced the ultraviolet durability of wood surface color and the hydrophobic of wood surface enhanced,the wood surface gloss and the light loss rate were reduced.The lower level is proportional to the content of nano material.The modified sample has the obtained new properties.The effects of wood surface properties with different nano type and contents were different.The results showed that:after 96h UV irradiation,the color difference of the specimen surface modified by nano-SiO2 were reduced by 21%-41%,the gloss of specimen surface were reduced by 0.9%-2.4%,the light loss rate were reduced by 4%-5%.And the contact angles of specimen surface were increased by 4°-5° after modification.After 96h UV irradiation,the color difference of the specimen surface modified by nano-TiO2 were reduced by 21%-60%,the gloss of specimen surface were reduced by 0.8%-2.2%,the light loss rate were reduced by 4%-7%.And the contact angles of specimen surface were increased by 6°-9° after modification.After 96h UV irradiation,the color difference of the specimen surface modified by nano-ZnO were reduced by 17%-28%,the gloss of specimen surface were reduced by 0.6%-3.0%,the light loss rate were reduced by 3%-8%.And the contact angles of specimen surface were increased by 5°-9° after modification.Besides,antimicrobial properties would be equipped on the specimen surface after the modification of nanometer TiO2 and ZnO.And the antibacterial ratio could be reached to 80%if the supplementation of nanomaterial was 4%.Nanometer materials surface modification to improve its dispersion.Infrared analysis of modified wax coating and the interface between the wood and there is no new chemical bonds to form,the indirect method is mainly mechanical interlocking and physical attraction,is a kind of simple mechanical adhesion.(3)The surface performance analysis of cinnamomum camphora waxing by inorganic composite nanoparticles was studied.Composite oxide with the single nano oxide modified performance optimization of camphor wood wax surface effects are basically identical.The application of nano nanomaterials can effectively enhanced the ultraviolet durability of wood surface color and the hydrophobic of wood surface enhanced,the wood surface gloss and the light loss rate were reduced.The lower level is proportional to the content of nano material.The modified sample has the obtained new properties.In 4%nano contents,The effects of wood surface properties with different nano type and contents were different.The application of nano-composite modification could improve the surface performance of wood waxing,greatly.After 96h UV irradiation,the ultraviolet resistance of surface performance modified by nano-TiO2/SiO2 was improved by 30%-38%.The gloss was reduced by 0.4%-3.4%,the gloss loss rate was reduced by 4%-6%,the contact angles were increased by 9°-11°,and the antimicrobial ratio of surface was reached 50%-80%.After 96h UV irradiation,the ultraviolet resistance of surface performance modified by nano-TiO2/ZnO was improved by 31%-64%.The gloss was reduced by 1.7%-3.1%,the gloss loss rate was reduced by 5%-7%,the contact angles were increased by 8°-9°,and the antimicrobial ratio of surface was reached 60%-85%.After 96h UV irradiation,the ultraviolet resistance of surface performance modified by nano-ZnO/SiO2 was improved by 29%-42%.The gloss was reduced by 0.7%-1.9%,the gloss loss rate was reduced by 5%-7%,the contact angles were increased by 7°-10°,and the antimicrobial ratio of surface was reached 50%-80%.Moreover,the thermal stability of nano?composite material(TiO2:SiO2=2:1,ZnO/SiO2=2:1)was improved obviously.Mechanism of composite nano-materials modified wax,interface and single nanometer material modification,the same show that modification method in the same circumstances,with two kinds of nanometer materials composite has no effect on the structure of the modified wax mechanism.(4)The cinnamomum camphora waxing model was established using Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)method to evaluate the cinnamomum camphora waxing performance after modifying by nanoparticles comprehensively,and obtain the optimization scheme.According to the evaluation system of AHP,the comprehensive score showed that:under the optimized experimental condition,2%nano-TiO2 single adding and nano-TiO2/ZnO(2:1)composite adding were the optimized conditions.The ratio of 2:1 nano-TiO2/ZnO modified specimen has the highest score,and the difference between the 2%nano-TiO2 modified specimen is only 0.0113.The results showed that there was no significant difference between the single and composite nano-oxide modified wax formulations under the physical blending modification process.Considering the processing cost and operability in the actual production,it is considered that the 2%TiO2 is the optimized plan of hot wax performance on the surface of camphor wood.(5)Feasibility elevation of the optimization waxing modification scheme.The sample,which not waxing as the contract,the sample of traditional waxing,and 2%nano-TiO2 modified waxing,2:1 nano-TiO2/ZnO modified waxing were characterization analyzed,respectively.The results showed that:from the objective evaluation,it indicated that the waxing effect of them had greater improvement than unprocessed wood materials,and the surface performance of modified maxing specimen was better than unmodified waxing specimen.Besides,among the modified specimen of TiO2/ZnO,the surface performance of specimen(2:1)was slightly prominent.The subjective elevation showed that there was large difference between waxing specimen and unprocessed wood materials,it was easy to distinguish,however,the difference between the three kinds of waxing specimen was much slightly.Anyway,the evaluation results of subjective and objective were almost the same.It also proved that the surface performance optimization process for cinnamomum camphora waxing is feasible.In this study,the cinnamomum camphora waxing method and the surface performance analysis have been discussed,in order to provide the theory basis and the technical data for the waxing process under the modern technology development.
