The processing characteristics were analyzed systematically when using a reciprocating frame saw to cut stones.Based on the above analysis,a new half-cycle sawing mode was proposed,which can be used to cut hard stones.The influence of sawing parameters and rock properties on cutting forces was studied,segment wear mechanism and the influence of rock properties on segment wear were further studied,a new segment was designed and prepared,and the feasibility of the sawability evaluation method for hard stone is verified by experiments in the end.(1)Based on the microscopic morphology of diamond segments,wear characteristics of diamond segments and the existing problems were analyzed systematically when using reciprocating frame saw to cut hard stone,which provides a theoretical basis for the design of the new sawing mode.(2)A half-cycle sawing mode was innovated,which made it possible to use frame saws to cut hard stones.The new model frame saw machine was manufactured and sawing test was performed.The experimental results showed that the half-cycle sawing mode is better than the reciprocating sawing mode.Influences of cutting parameters on forces were studied using single and orthogonal test method.Regressive mathematical models of cutting forces were established.Single and multi-variable statistical regression analysis was utilized to predict normal force according to rock properties.A mathematical model was established to predict normal force,which provides the necessary theoretical basis for the design of sawing machine and sawing process.(3)Segment wear characteristics were analyzed comprehensively by microscopic method.The wear mechanisms of the diamond particles and matrix were studied.The influence of stone properties on segment wear characteristics was studied using single factor and multi-variable regression analysis methods.The prediction mathematical models were developed.The statistical analysis results show that the predicted mathematical model is correct and reasonable,which provides a feasible method for segment wear prediction and provides a certain reference value for users of saw machines.(4)Based on the different concentration of the lateral layer and the middle layer,the layered structured of the middle layer,and different size ratio of diamond particles,the new segments were designed and completed.Radial(height)wear and slab flatness were evaluated to verify the feasibility of new segment to cut hard stones.FAHP and TOPSIS method was used to rank the sawability of hard stones by choosing segments wear as an evaluation criterion and choosing stone properties as input parameters.The relationship between mineral properties and mechanical properties of hard stone and evaluation indexes is established.The feasibility of sawability classification mode is verified through experiments.The sawability of hard stones can be judged according to the characteristics of measured stone properties.The evaluation method provides basis for selection of sawing tools and sawing process.The research of the paper makes it possible to use frame saws to cut hard stones,and it has an important significance on improving and developing the new sawing technology of large hard stone,seeking a new process for efficient saw processing,and promoting the engineering application of high effective sawing.
