The Evolution Of Migrant Workers’ Employment Space In Metropolis

With the development of the social economy,increasing concerns are putting on the vulnerable groups.As a long-standing community,migrant-workers and their employment space become a typical sample of urban social space research as well as the critical path.On the basis of combing the related theories of migrant workers,employment space and so on,this research constructs the theory of the evolution of migrant workers’ employment space,and further takes the Nanjing main city as an empirical study to discuss the spatial evolution model,existing problems,and the corresponding space development strategies.The construction of the theory of the evolution of migrant workers’ employment space.First,several theories that have direct implications for this research are summarized.Then,using the theoretical tools mentioned above,combined with the employment characteristics of migrant workers and spatial characteristics of metropolis,the evolution mechanism of the employment space of foreign workers is constructed.Finally,the evolution of migrant workers’ employment space is divided into three stages,and the analysis frame of migrant workers’ employment space is constructed from three aspects,which are the employment space structure(agglomeration),the employment space ecology(differentiation)and the individual employment trajectory(migration)Selected Nanjing main city(2009-2015)as the case,the empirical verification is carried out from three aspects above.The evolution of the spatial structure of migrant workers in Nanjing main city.It mainly uses cross section data(2009 and 2015)to describe the structural characteristics of the the evolution of migrant workers’ employment space through the two aspects of "the evolution of the employment spatial distribution " and "the evolution of the employment space center".Among them,the evolution analysis of the spatial distribution of employment is determined by the three dimensions of the overall pattern,the characteristics of the agglomeration and the characteristics of the gradient.In the evolution analysis of the employment space center,the definition and identification method of the targeted migrant workers’ employment center are put forward to describe and analyze the evolution process of migrant workers’ employment center.The evolution of the employment space ecology of migrant workers s in Nanjing main city.Firstly,it discusses the applicability of the traditional spatial ecological analysis method(factor ecological analysis method)to the spatial ecological analysis of migrant workers’ employment.Secondly,based on the data availability,it selects the targeted factor,and finally draws influential factors of the employment space of migrant workers.The internal differences and characteristics change of the employment space of the migrant workers are analyzed from the following three levels: the evolution of influential factors,the spatial evolution of influential factors,and the evolution of employment space ecological structure.The employment trajectories of migrant workers in Nanjing main city.First,it constructs a "time-spacesociety" path analysis framework Second,using the framework above,the trajectory characteristics of migrant workers’ employment migration are discussed in sub dimensions.Finally,it examines the role played by time and space in the employment movement of migrant workers(especially upward mobility).The optimizing strategy of the migrant workers’ employment space.First,it focuses on the existing problems and constraints.Second,practical optimization strategies and general suggestions are put forward on the basis of evolution mode.The research has a certain practical value and theoretical value,which will support the policy of migrant workers in the process of urbanization in the future,and provide reference for the transfer and citizenization of rural labor and the development of new-type urbanization.
