Landscape City Construction In Jinan From The Perspective Of Chinese Garden Aesthetics

Chinese Garden is famed to be an artistic wonder in the world.The aesthetics behind it is the pursuit of perfection.Featuring naturalness,serenity,nimbleness and coziness,Chinese garden art embodies Chinese traditional philosophy,ecological and aesthetic values.This paper first traces the aesthetics of Chinese Garden to its origins and sorts out the essence of Chinese Landscape culture.Then it attempts to apply the tradition into the planning and building of a Modern Landscape City or MLC,on the basis of the intrinsic relationship between traditional and modern urban planning.MLC is a composite concept.First,it relies on natural and man-made landscape,as well as unique urban features.Second,it puts urban residents first and focuses on carrying forward the city’s cultural tradition.Third,it is efficient,harmonious and ecologically-friendly;Fourth,it is a brand-new model city driven by big-data driven and based on high-tech.Fifth,it draws inspiration from the research into the aesthetics of Chinese Garden.The city of Ji’nan,Shandong Province is a historical city rich in culture.It is famous for the numerous springs spread all over the city.It is well ready to be built into a MLC.Based on the current landscape and development needs of Ji’nan,the paper proposes plans such as building green landscape corridors,green lands,featured zones and chessboard-like urban spatial structure,in order to building Ji’nan into a MLC suffused with both Chinese Garden culture and modern technologies.In summary,this paper aims at contributing to the development of Ji’nan into a MLC by drawing on both traditional and contemporary resources.
