Based on the era background of Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor this paper selects Guan Zi,Laozi,Liezi,Zhuangzi, and Sishu, the two representative works of Confucianism and Taoism in the traditional culture before Qin and Han Dynasties,to study the origin of Qi Theory in traditional culture, and to find the connotation of Qi Theory on which traditional Chinese medicine academic relies.Based on this, this paper studies the theory of Qi in the representative works of TCM academic development,in order to clarify the influence of ancient Qi Theory on TCM academic development. The paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is the origin of Qi Theory.Through the research and analysis of Qi Theory in eight books of Confucianism and Taoism before Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor,it is found that many nouns have the same connotation as Qi,such as Tao,heaven, heart, nature, etc. And the ancient people's experience of Qi is called internal seeking method.Through this method, many viewpoints are obtained, including the understanding of metaphysical noumenon and everything under the form, which becomes the cornerstone of the framework of TCM academic theory system. It has formed the unique outlook on life of traditional Chinese culture and even traditional Chinese medicine: the outlook on life of the whole heaven and man,the outlook on life of the trinity of body,Qi and spirit. The second chapter is the basic theorem of ancient Qi Theory.Through the research and discussion of the first chapter, the six basic theorems related to the ancient theory of Qi are summed up: Qi is the origin of all things in the universe;Qi is filled in the void of the universe;Qi is one of the elements that constitute all things;Qi is the intermediary between all things;Qi is the beginning of the movement and change of all things;Qi is related to spirit. The third chapter is the influence of Qi Theory on the formation and development of the basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine. This chapter divides the basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine into two periods: the forming period and the developing period. In the formation period,Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor,Nan Jing,Sheng Nong's Herbal Classic and Treatise on Febrile Diseases respectively represent the theoretical basis, clinical basis and theoretical basis of traditional Chinese medicine, analyze the connotation of Qi Theory, and clarify the influence of Qi Theory on its formation. The development period is divided into three stages: Jin to Tang,Song to Ming and Qing to modern times. There are 15 doctors and 15 related works. The research and analysis of Qi Theory are carried out to clarify the role of Qi Theory in the academic development of traditional Chinese medicine. Finally, based on the comprehensive research content, this paper sums up two enlightenments and looks forward to the development direction of Qi Theory in modern science. The fourth chapter is the application of Qi Theory in traditional Chinese medicine.Combined with the medical attributes of traditional Chinese medicine, this paper compares the similarities and differences of its understanding of life in modern medicine, and summarizes the two life concepts of traditional Chinese medicine. This paper analyzes the application and value of Qi Theory in human physiology, pathology, diagnosis, treatment and health preservation. Finally, combined with the analysis of the medical cases in Gu Jin Yi An An,the tutor's cases and the author's own clinical medical cases, this paper analyzes the specific application of Qi Theory in acupuncture, massage and Traditional Chinese Medicine prescriptions in the clinical practice, and analyzes the clinical diagnosis, disease mechanism and pharmacology with Qi Theory as the core,so as to show the value of Qi Theory in detail and combine theory with practice. Therefore, through the above research,it is believed that Qi theory contains two aspects: metaphysical ontology and energy theory and law theory of the development and change of all things under the form.It is a high summary of the world outlook, outlook on life, value outlook and outlook on life based on the self-awareness of life through internal seeking method, and covers the practice of internal saints and the achievement of the cause of external kings applied theory.Qi Theory makes Traditional Chinese Medicine basically the same as traditional culture. When it is applied to ourselves,we can understand the noumenon according to reason, and when it is applied to the society,we can save the danger and the difficulty. In the same way, these studies provide important references for the modernization of Qi Theory and even the modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
